I really really hate Clara

I really wanted to like Clara but so far she has failed to bring anything interesting to the table. And the twist of her multiple lives hasn't been enough to peak my interest.
It was a nice starting point but I don't feel they did enough to make it interesting. It reminded me a lot of bad wolf but with a weak payoff.

I like the actress playing Clara, I like her sass and some of her lines, but overall the character seems pretty bland to me.
I think the problem is that the Clara that I enjoyed from her first two appearances (Dalek prison and Victorian England) isn't the same Clara that actually joined the Doctor. She didn't have that same flirty spunk or oomph that I loved about her.
Hopefully I haven't said this before. I thought it would have been interesting if, since it was a half-season, the Doctor would find a new Clara every episode, in different times and settings, and she would die every time (like South Park's Kenny). This would make for a longer story arc that might have some emotional payoff as the Doctor races to find out why she keeps dying, especially if it was his fault (she would never be in danger until he showed up).
Rumors have gone back and forth on if this is real.
The actual rumor definitely sounds too good to be true. There are 106 missing episodes. If the rumor is true, there will only be 16 missing episodes.
Now that is breaking from his character of the last 4 years...

Adult Swim show that makes fun of any of those CSI-esque shows. Hit or miss, but it has Bill from Freaks and Geeks in it.
It could be a parody of all the police procedurals out there that over use acronyms.

They at least mentioned that Martha Jones had a relative at Torchwood during the battle at Canary Wharf. Easy way out is to say Amy Pond is a relative/descendant of the soothsayer.
Dear lord. It's a television show. It's not like they are the first to reuse actors. I have a friend who was a patient on E.R one season, and then became a doctor on the show a few seasons later. And no... they were different characters. It's just one of the things you have to get past when casting from a small pool of appropriate actors for the role you're trying to fill. Plus, it's fucking England. I think we've already discussed that every English actor has probably already had a role in Doctor Who at some point, or is guaranteed to be in the future.

Yeah, I never saw the big stink about having an actor return like that. I remember talking with a major Whovian in the comic store once about the rumour that Patterson Joseph was being considered for The Doctor (this was before Matt Smith was cast). They said, "Nope! He can't! He was in that Weakest Link episode!"

Actually, I'm more interested in knowing what the outfit is going to be.
Jeffrey Combs was, like, 6 or 7 characters on the various Star Trek shows, 3 on DS9 alone. Two of which were recurring characters that even appeared occasionally in the same episode.
I was hoping it would have really been John Hurt.
Now Craig Ferguson might get a part on Dr Who. Peter Capaldi was the lead singer in the same punk band as Craig. I bet he freaked out when he learned an old friend of his is going to be the new Doctor. I can't wait until Craig records his next show and talks about Dr Who for a whole hour.
