[TV] Talk about the last TV you watched, the catchall thread

Ok, so I just watched Reunification parts 1 and 2.

The Romulan plan was beyond stupid. 2 ships full of soldiers, deep in the heart of the Federation (Vulcan is very near Sol) is going to accomplish what? It seems like they had a great idea with good build up (the first part) and had zero idea how to proceed with it in the second.

Gravity Falls Season finale: OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD! The ending was so awesome I'm saying oh my God instead of oh my satan! WATCH IT! WATCH IT YOU BASTARDS! Unless you haven't seen any of Gravity Falls than watch all of season one and then come back to me but still OH MY MOTHERFUCKING SPACE SHITING GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!

Also if I met Gideon I don't care if I get arrested, I would beat the ever living space shit out Gideon. NO ONE MAKES WADDLES CRY!

I also just watched.

...OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD! What a close to the first season. Cannot wait for the next!

Grappling Hook!

I don't know if anyone on here has mentioned it ever but OHMYGOD Scandal is fucking insane and crazy and fun in the best way ever. I marathoned S1 and S2 faster than Veronica Mars (20 episodes in 24 hours nearly), and I can't wait for more.

Ooh boy, wonder what Dipper/Mabel dropped there?

Finally finished the first season of Star Trek. Shame I all ready ate, the alien cell monsters in it gave me a HANKERIN' for lasagna.

Speaking of BBC ownage, I cannonballed Luther recently and absolutely loved it. Sad that it might be over.
Might be? It is.

But yes, Luther owns all the bones. Anybody who even remotely liked Idris Elba in anything ever (and somehow hasn't seen this show) owes it to themselves to watch it. Anybody who even remotely likes cop shows at all owes it to themselves to watch it.

Just everybody should watch it, really.

I've been watching more Veronica Mars. 8 episodes into the first season and I'm digging it. No stupid leaps of logic yet, which is really great.

Veronica Mars is pretty smartly plotted. I loved that they don't really cheat with their season-long mysteries, and they all fit and make complete sense once you get to the end. Makes rewatching funner.

Plus a lot of the mysteries-of-the-week have little tidbits that add to Veronica/the viewer's understanding of certain players in the large overall mystery.

I'm on season 3 of Buffy right now, and yet I still feel the Anointed one was killed off too quickly. Little guy had a damn prophecy and everything, and then Spike just sun-boxed him. I was kinda hoping he'd be your classic scary demon child with scary demon child powers but he just killed off. Missed potential there.

That's called subverting viewer expectations. A common theme in Whedon-produced works. It's also a common thread in Order of the Stick.

I think Whedon did this a little too much in early Buffy. Over the course of the first two seasons, the Master, the Anointed One, and Drusilla are all shoveled aside/turn out to be push-overs.

Sort of reminds me how the most iconic villain of the TMNT franchise, the Shredder, was initially supposed to be a 1 shot pushover who we'd never see again after the debut arc.

Yeah I was kinda hoping The Master would do more, shoot an energy blast or two. Also that cloven hoof guy, but I'm okay with it since Trick and They Mayior are more interesting villains.

On the topic of Shredder, how weird is it that The foot clan has more exposure media wise than The Hand whom they are based on? You ask most people who the Hand are they go confused, but ask who the foot clan and you'll almost always get an answer. It'd be like if more people knew who WonderWarthog than Superman, its crazy!

Kakistos I understand, he was a monster-of-the-week villain, but the ones I mentioned were built up over multiple episodes as the big bad, only to be shafted when Whedon moved to someone else. He mowed through three push-overs before settling on a real antagonist. It all worked out for the best, but rewatching the show a couple years ago, it was more frustrating than when I'd watch it weekly as a kid.

I'm watching the new TMNT show. I'm... really blown away. It has genuinely funny moments and is paced and scripted well. Thumbs up.

What little of it I've seen is fantastic, I need to see it all.

I'm working my way through Wakfu, a French cartoon set in a fantasy world (action/comedy). It's ridiculously good so far, and I love the design of the world and characters.

My seven year old son digs it, and yes, it's pretty good. Once again, if you know what to watch, it's a great time for adults watching "kids" television. The Saturday morning stuff they ran when I was a kids sucked hard in comparison.

I really, really like it too. The character designs (almost all of them anyway), voices, writing and animation are great.

The only ones I don't like are Fishface and Dogpound, who both look awful.

Now Dogpound I half agree on, but Fishface kicks ass! I'll admit I didn't care for his design at first but the moment he got robo legs I realized he was my new god. He'll robo kick you, he'll poison-bite you, and then you DIE! FISHFACE MOTHER FUCKER! Plus Christian Lanz voice is cool.
