[Handheld] Pokemon X/Y and Alpha Centari with Beta Ray Bill

I thought Everstones just have a percentage.

I still love Wonder Trades. It's hit and miss, but you have to accept that when you toss stuff out there. I've received my share of Bidoofs, but also Pokemon I wouldn't get until later on.

The Exp Share is ridiculous. How many people's starters had to be getting close to full evolution by the time they hit the second gym?

As far as I can tell, passing on a nature is 100% with an everstone. I've used it a ton.

My starter was almost to his final evolution by the second gym, but the distance between the first few gyms is much further in this game than past pokemon games. The gyms themselves seem to play a more minor role this time around, and you only really go back to beating them towards the end.

That seems weird considering the trade level restrictions compared to badges.

Got good news on breeding. If one parent holds a Destiny Knot, up to five IVs get passed on, too. It's been confirmed over at Smogon, so once those perfect parents come over through the bank, there's going to be a lot more high IV mons.

Passing natures with an Everstone used to be 50% in Emerald, Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum. From Heartgold and Soulsilver onwards, it's 100%, including all of Generation 5 and presumably Generation 6.

Unless, of course, both parents are holding Everstones, in which case I believe the nature is randomly chosen between the two parents' natures, with a 50% chance for each. Also, if you do this, you're an idiot. :p

People are gonna have to to breed me some perfect IV mons, because I have shit all to transfer over.

Also, you guys need to hurry up and beat the elite 4. So I can get more pokemon at the friend safari.

I do have the capability to get you a perfect Ditto (or nearly anything else) when transfers can start. Hacked parent Pokemon produce offspring that are not hacked, and can easily have perfect IVs.

Hrm... I don't know. I mean, that's not practically cheating... it is cheating.

(who am I kidding... I'm gonna say yes)

Is it cheating when RNG abuse, which also circumvents the spirit of the game and exploits its code, produces the same results? Why is saving hours of pointless timing considered cheating when RNG abuse is considered legit?

I'll take the tunnel rather than climb over the mountain with lead weights tied to my feet, thank you.

Yeah, it is. I kinda like how the game is right now, where no one (as far as I can tell) can cheese up the perfect stats possible. Eventually people would breed out the genetically perfect pokemon, which will lead to more, and it will have been the result of likely thousands of hours of work... and also japanese people.

But as someone that's never going to play competitively anyway, when the flood gates open up and the genetically crafted supermon begin to invade, might as well join them.

Fine fine I'll take my lvl 70 Pokemon on over to the 8th gym and get my ass in gear. :p

All but one of my pokemon were nearly level 80 by the time I finally hit the elite 4, so I can't really talk. I got so distracted by everything else in the game that the gyms didn't matter.

Excuse me, I need to water my berries.

Out of curiosity, about what level range were the Elite Four?

Let's say, for the sake of argument, that I purchased a 3DS and this game. Would I have to buy a separate cartridge for each person that wanted to play it at my house, or does this game support any sort of multiple users in one cartridge/purchase?

I assume the worst, but I figure it doesn't hurt to ask...
There's only one save file, this has been the case for every pokemon game. It makes it impossible to have multiple savegames to capture the same pokemon multiple times for trading.

So, in one of the towns towards the end (it's the one with a giant sundial) there's a house with an old man inside. The old man says he's been lonely ever since his wife died, and wants to know if he could look after one of your pokemon for you. He wanted one level 5 or under, so I gave him one of the spare bulbasaurs I'd bred.

Every now and then I'd go check on them, to see what was up with this guy. And he'd always say something like "I'm having so much fun with bulbasaur, I feel young again! Would you like him back?" And since I didn't want to empty my party to make an open slot, I was always like nah, keep playing with him.

I went back to the city today to check the hidden power of a pokemon, but entered the wrong house...

It was the old man's house, but it was empty, except for a pokeball on the ground. Inside the pokeball was my bulbasaur, with a note from the old man. He wrote about how happy he was to have a companion until the end...

Dammit pokemon... I was not expecting to feel.

If you download the game onto the 3DS through the Nintendo eshop, then you can switch out SD cards for each individual player (you'll have to download it onto each SD card, but that doesn't cost extra). The catch is that you'd have to buy SD cards then instead of Pokemon cartridges.

I did last night. Mind letting me know what my code gives?

You are electric and give Pikachu, Dedenne, and ... not sure about the third one, because that's all I'm seeing. It looks like we've never been online at the same time, maybe that has to happen for it to update.

So, it seems like female pokemon still pass on their ability the majority of the time, -however- this generation, males WITH A HIDDEN ABILITY can still pass it on. I've tested this with the event speed-boost torchic, which were all male, by breeding it with a ditto. It's produced 4 eggs so far, 1 female with blaze, 1 male with blaze, 1 female with speed boost, and 1 male with speed boost.

I think to get the third we both need to be on at the same time and then have one of us visit the safari. I kinda got shafted on what I give.

Hey, even if you give common pokemon (and you totally do) you do still provide the ability to catch those pokemon with hidden abilities.

Also, I found a light orb on one of your pikachus.

Thanks to the GTS, I've finally gathered all the starters. Now I gotta breed them, and clean up in trades.
