Tiny Death Star

I'm loving this game. It's a huge improvement over Tiny Tower, which in itself was a fun little game as well.
Besides a fun little play mechanic I think one of the most amazing things about this game is the artwork. While rendered in 8-bit its absolutely beautiful. Every floor has a personality all it's own, and it's enjoyable to try and catch some of the details that only a true Star Wars nut would find. Then there are the cinematics that have, so far, been hilarious.
Lando getting caught by troops because he snags his cape in the door is priceless.
Now with the room cinematics I'm guessing that there are methods to unlock them. You have to take a main character (indicated with a "?" while at the elevator) and deliver them to a specific room (not typically the one they ask to go to). I wonder if anyone else has unlocked any other cinematics. I currently only know the two.

1) Leia Organa (New Hope) to the interrogation room (Imperial room).

2) Gungan (JarJar?) to the Mos Espa Cantina.

Anyone else unlock others?

And if you're curious about this game it's a free download. Imperial Bucks are sort of the premium currency, and buy specific things such as elevator upgrades and specific rooms/costumes. You can earn Imperial Bucks through playing the game, so paying for them is sort of just the quick way to accumulate currency. I'd recommend just playing it for a while before you invest anything. Hopefully you'll agree that putting money into it is kind of pointless.

I loved the heck out of Tiny Tower, finished all the missions and achievements, and all the achievements on Pocket Planes (both iOS). Started Pocket Trains (android) a few weeks ago and liking it, but since I am able to only check in every couple of hours due to work, I don't think I should start up with Tiny Death Star right now.

I'm up to 580+ million reserve cash in Tiny Tower and over 35000 bux in Pocket Planes and have no real reason to spend any, never purchased any either.

Still playing Tiny Tower, about 70 floors in. Hell I just did a spreadsheet to help me keep track of what bitizens need what jobs.

A friend started TDS this past weekend, & I had seen the popup ad in TT. So I went ahead & started it up. I do like that there is some sort of reward for actually playing the game instead of just stocking/ordering & then quitting. The bad thing is that so far most of my stores have really crappy order times per inventory. Almost all my floors have order times of less than 30 minutes that produce inventory of less than 150. I can't make any money while I'm away because the inventory disappears so quick.

question: When viewing the bitizens, what sort order is the * tab? I can't figure it out.

I'm getting somewhat pissed that the sound keeps coming back on even when it shows as toggled off, so that I have to keep Re-toggling it.

I want to try Luke Skywalker in the Extending Bridge. Don't know if it will do anything, but seems like a good chance.

Sorts by dream job
Oh I wish! That would also come in handy on TT.

There doesn't seem to be a bitizen happiness metric in this game, so it doesn't appear to be that. I just can't see to figure out the connection.

Also:

When you have to find Lando as a rebel spy, when he gets away by tickling the stormtrooper from behind & taking his blaster. The cheesy grin is awesome!

That seems pretty annoying actually. I haven't seen a scene activate yet other than the gungan in the Mos Espa cafe. I suppose getting Leia in the interrogation room makes sense. Your elevator passenger will always get out at an imperial level.

So it looks like one might be able to force a scene to happen. The key would be to not press the red elevator button, and instead waiting for the bitizen and floor number to show. You can then select the level you want, and move it to the appropriate floor number. You would also need to spend an Imperial buck to move the floor.

Although, waiting every time sounds like a pain in the ass, so I'm not sure how useful this tip is, unless the only thing you want is to initiate a given scene.

My friend said he got one:

Boba Fett to Cloud City Spa

Said that the bitizen didn't have the "?" before he moved him. I'm assuming he also just got lucky with the floor destination.

I don't particularly care for a game dynamic that requires me to go do something else for 45+ minutes if I don't want to spend bux.

Then this isn't the game for you obviously. This is a Farmville/Smurfville/Simpsons tap type of game. Designed to play in short bursts - log in, tend your crops/fields/stores & then check again in a while. The "gameplay" of moving bitizens where they want to go is not necessary, & not really much of a game at all, just something to pass the time. At least TDS has a few rewards for actually playing the game via unlockable scenes & time taken off restock times.

I finally found one:

Snowtrooper to the Imperial Museum. Although from the looks of the scene, it could be any stormtrooper and/or Wicket.

New Hope Luke in the Extending Bridge.

Since it's an Imperial level you can deliver him any time there regardless of which floor he wants. However I've found that with faster elevators it's hard to time it just right. Bit of a bug there, because he gets off at whichever Imperial level floor the elevator slows down at.

Scene: New Hope Luke in the Detention Center. Probably unlocked with Leia, Han and Chewie as well.

I've also discovered that I prefer it when my troops fail to capture a rebel spy. Apparently you get 2 Imperial Bux for that result instead of the 1 you get for a capture.

Noticed a little something: during level construction, you can go into the menu and check the levels to find out which one it will be. Might be useful if you are deciding to keep or evict a bitizen.

I don't think other cut scenes actually exist. I haven't seen a new one in I don't know how long. These bastards keep wanting to go to the wrong floors.

Looks like they changed the game to make it easier to unlock scenes. Characters with a question mark can be dropped off at any level now.

Oh lord. I started the app and immediately got hit by an ad for Disney's Frozen just as the emperor turns in his chair.

I love you Disney, and don't mind that you have the rights, but FUCK OFF!

For those interested in unlocking the character/level animations without fiddling around a lot, I present a pretty printable graphic made from the latest info on gaming.stackexchange.com:
