I have found that having a political disagreement with your own wife is an... interesting experience.
Yes, but after he fighting's done, the make-up sex is amazing.
Just ask Stienman about his anti-religion commie nazi jew libertarian Ayn-Rand-fan wife*. :unibrow:

*No offense meant to the actual Stienwoman, who is no doubt an amazing and interesting person.

we 503'd it or reddit saw it and gave it the hug o death
I know, I had to retry the connection 5 times or so.

Still, the lines "the laws of robotics will prevent any uprising from the owls" - "but they're not robots" - "err, question is over" did make me laugh out loud.

GUYS!!

In 4 hours someone please send me a message reminding me to eat! I spaced and skipped all meals yesterday and skipped breakfast this morning. I've been so busy it's seriously not even crossed my mind. Why does everything important have to happen all in the same day!?? Leaves me no time!! UGH, just..someone remind me please, so I don't forget again.

@LittleKagsin, have you eaten yet?

The company I work for the last 6 years has been bought by a competitor. Half the employees were let go this afternoon, I was on the road today and have a meeting with the President and HR guy at 9 AM tomorrow morning.

Doesn't bold well I think.

But there's an awesome 2014 to be had with full EI benefits + 20 weeks of parental.

I am broken up about the latest news here. I don't fucking understand this world. This is so messed up.
I feel the same.

My empathy is extremely heightened and, I don't know if you guys know, but I think about all of you on pretty much a daily basis. I think about everything that everyone goes through and I get a physical reaction (pain or tears) no matter what. I just don't ever want anyone to feel like they have to do something alone, so I react.

I love you guys. I really do.

Hoo boy... rich kids. One of my science groups is doing an experiment about how different songs affect their memory. One of the group members made a point to say on 4 different occasions: "Hey, hey guys, I can bring my 150$ headphones. They're really nice. They were 150 dollars." It's hard to not say "oh, shut up" sometimes.

Odd, considering that $150 headphones aren't top of the line (Most are $250+) so it sounds more to me like a middle class kid that got lucky that's trying to brag to actual rich kids?

Still, I agree that's annoying though.

I'm so sorry to be a "one-upper", but I've got ya beat. This is the (honest-to-God) conversation I overheard yesterday in class:

"... I mean, yeah, my family has, like, a few million dollars. Maybe 3 or so. But I wouldn't say we're rich, ya know? Being rich means being able to buy anything you want, and we can't do that."

Lordy, how I love working in the rich suburbs sometimes. Such wonderful, down-to-earth people.

*Shit my parents say during tax season..."

This should probably go in a rant thread, but ... someone is mysteriously ... buying us stuff. (Villainous.)

Both my wife and I noticed things vanishing from each other's wishlists. We're not supposed to be exchanging gifts with anyone besides my little cousins, and we already got stuff for them to give us, so who the hell is doing this? Someone who isn't me bought my wife a good chunk of stuff. I don't want surprise guilt for Christmas, whoever it is.

There was an online stalker who used to buy my wife stuff, but that was years ago and I don't think it's him. It's some dastardly family member. We said no exchanging this year. That should be clear, not a one-sided thing.

Soooo... I got an e-mail from my older cousin this evening (we're not particularly close, but we keep in touch off and on), so it was a bit odd to hear from her. What was stranger yet was that my biological father (whom I haven't seen or heard from since I was... 4? 5? so, ~25 years) somehow found her on-line (how I'm not sure, we don't share a last name since she uses her mother's last name) and wants to get in touch with me. She (wisely) didn't give out any of my info (to the alcoholic cheating bastard), but left his e-mail address with me.
Da fuq?
I am utterly baffled by this development.

The urge to reconcile/reconnect with family can be very strong. At least she's apparently showing some restraint and not tossing you out there for him to find.

Since Amazon opened it's west coast warehouse, they sure aren't making any sort of case for any of us to pay for Prime. Prime here only ensures free 2 day delivery, none of the extras. I ordered some crap on Monday and it's out for Delivery today and all I took was free shipping, which usually takes 7+ days.

Hey Homies!

I recorded on a podcast last week, and the episode is available today!

http://truthbombspodcast.tumblr.com/post/68973182388/11-talking-about-the-lemons-and-the-bees

11. Talking About The Lemons And The Bees
In which we discuss winter drivers, indie rock clubs, untied shoe laces, Space Jam in theatres, and guest star Miller goads us into a full-blown sonnet-off.
It's a pretty decent show but still kind of finding its legs. It would mean a lot to my friends if you guys gave it a listen, especially if you stuck around! Plus I'm on this episode, and many of you haven't heard me on a podcast since 2009. ;)

Please to check it out!
