[Question] Unable to access my site

Hey so I have been having trouble accessing a site I am an admin at and it appears to be my isp. When I go out I can access the site just fine on my laptop but not on my home internet. There have been multiple other people that have said they cannot access the site either. When asked they all had the same isp as me. I can browse the site using a proxy but I'm kind of worried about logging into an admin account through a proxy and wondering what I can do about it. Are there some proxy sites where that would be safe or would a vpn work and which one would you suggest. Or is there something else I could potentially be missing.

Also do some isps black list sites? It was hacked a bit ago and they threw some malicious stuff up there and wondering if that could be the cause.

It depends on your carrier, etc. It's entirely possible your ISP is blocking you. If it's not a pirate site or doing anything illegal, I'd contact the ISP and just ask.

Is it trouble accessing cpanel? It could be that you've been trying to go to a different port, like 2083, rather than the normal HTTP port. Try a few other methods of accessing admin section, like cpanel.mysite.com or mysite.com/cpanel

I once had my work ISP block gasbanditry.com because they thought the activity between me and it "suspicious" and it took me a month to figure out what they'd done, then had to have them remove the block. My first step in your case, @Rovewin , would be to contact your ISP and make sure they aren't blocking that domain/IP.

Actually, wait, it was the other way around.. my WEBHOST blocked my work IP. But same idea.

Allright I will try contacting my ISP tomorrow and hope I can get things sorted out. It's just frustrating having to go out if I need to access it.

I feel like I say this a lot lately, but you could try specifying a dns server like googles. It could be that their DNS server is messed up.

Ok I tried calling and the tech support is unable to see if the site has been blacklisted. After having me do all the idiots tests, they said if I want to find out, I need to sign up for a subscription to their advanced tech support. :mad:

I tried but it didn't seem to do anything

The traceroute turned up : unknown host

You might need to flush your DNS after the change to make sure it refreshes.

I tried it again on a different comp changing the dns servers and the traceroute came up with the first 3 hops going somewhere with all the rest being request timed out
