Might be. I'd certainly be able to get the blue ray player, 3D glasses, and speaker system a lot sooner that way.

If I had more time I'd build a controller with a coin acceptor that would force us to actually pay for it as we use it.

Then I'd put one on the shower so my oldest son would have to choose between having money or having 30 minute long hot showers right before mine.

I'm sure you could rig one up that dispenses X minutes of Internet (for the kids' machines) per quarter inserted.
