[TV] The What Anime Are You Watching Thread!

Wife and I just finished Ghost Hound. Short, short version is it's about a boy who was kidnapped with his sister 11 years earlier. She died of dehydration while being held captive and the boy has been traumatized since. Lately, something weird has been happening in his town involving spirits and the boy's dreams, and he begins to wonder if his sister has come back to him.

The show deals heavily in various spiritual theories, psychological theories, anatomy, astral projection, shintoism, cults, conspiracies ... It starts REALLY slow, though the characters are interesting, but picks up once the supernatural stuff starts to happen.

It ended well. Not sure I'd watch it again, but it was a strong show.

Next I think we'll watch either Michiko and Hatchin or Outlaw Star.

Why can't DBZ Abriged episodes come out faster!!!!

It's to the point where I actually prefer the Abriged voices to some of the original voice actors, particularly Goku.

And yet none of them are getting any kind of recognition or job offers from their hard work. Because Troy Baker can knock out 10 voices in a week, so who needs anyone else?

Vegeta: What are you doing?

Gohan: What am I doing?

Vegeta: Thwarting my plans?

I should watch anime, but so much work lately, tomorrow is my day off....maybe just maybe I can get some stuff watched.

We ran through Attack on Titan season 1 pretty quick as my wife got as addicted as I did on my first view. Certain elements of the story ... you can see their groundwork once you know they're coming. Also starting to speculate on other stuff. I think I'm gonna have to start reading the manga. I wonder if our local library has any volumes.

We started Outlaw Star tonight. Damn, this is old school. I forgot all about the little grabby arms on the spaceships.

If you can't find it at the library, I recommend batoto.net for manga. No watermarks all over the pages and minimal ads compared to other sites. Plus you can use the arrow keys to change pages instead of the mouse, which is one of those little things I love.

Finished SAO part two two weeks ago and I am glad I stuck with it cos those last three episodes were AWESOME! And I am glad that they ended the series here, because it really really REALLY didn't need to contin-

SEASON 2 COMING OUT THIS YEAR!

OH COME ON! Fleh, it'll probs be good. Just hope it doesn't have as much fan service.

SAO is based off of a Light Novel series, so there's a bit more material to use. Also, in the next season they join a shooter MMO and Kirito's avatar is a girl.

So there's that.

Yeah... the whole thing with the world seed was basically to set up different "worlds" for each season. Personally, I'm hoping they do an arc where they finish up SAO and then switch games ONLY because they don't want to grind end game content forever.

From what I gather the over-arching story is Kirito and co. begin playing these other MMOs that use the same programming as SAOas government agents or somesuch in order to prevent another SAO catastrophe.

I stumbled on this, figured @Bones would like it, so here it is. I'm usually not much of one for AMVs, but this one's got some pretty good work behind it I think.

That show was all kinds of heartwarming, I am of the opinion that someone was watching kiki when they designed mirai...

Watched Cybernetic Guardian last night after finding it at Half Price Books. I absolutely love 90's anime english dubbing. I honestly could not figure out the plot to save my life but the show was 32 flavore of crazy 2 scoops at a time! Something about giant suits of evil armor and being fueled by the hatred of the poor sob shoved inside.

on a sidenote in the last 8 episodes of KON! S2, after that not sure what to watch next from my pile of stuff. Really enjoying the weird dynamics setting up as the girls come to the end of high school.

I actually cracked through the whole series up to date at work the other day.

I'm sad I didn't really know about it outside of brief passing familiarity.

Krillin and Popo in the recent episode were killing me, one of the best ones they've done lately.

"Oh, Trunks can handle this, that sword cut Frieza in hal-*crunch*. Ohhhhhhhhhh nooooooooooooooooooooooooo..."

Finished Kyoukai no Kanata/Beyond the Boundary. Wow! Looking at some reviews for the series it seems like people either really love it or really hate it. I loved it. It reminded me a lot of a bunch of different anime that I have enjoyed - like Bleach, DRRR! and SAO blended together. Best ever? No, but I would recommend it to anyone who likes the story in SAO.

Watched a preview of the Attack on Titan dub.

Hated it.
That's generally what happens when one watches the sub first, I find. Back in the day, my biggest disappointment of this nature was, having watched Love Hina as a sub... finally seeing it come out as a dub, and hating the voices.

But I find the opposite is true when that dub is a parody. The Abridged on Titan parody is solid damn gold, just like DBZ Abridged... and I didn't watch "Free!" as a sub, but the "50% off!" parody dub... I can't get enough.[DOUBLEPOST=1394672492,1394672398][/DOUBLEPOST]
check out the new ToraDora dub trailer they just released, I don't know what to say...

See, I never saw that one as a sub, so the voices don't sound odd to me at all.

Didn't know there was an Abridged on Titan. I'll check it out, thanks.
