[Gaming] Diablo 3 : Ser Farm-A-Lot

Yes. The WD is best played as a cheerleader/bard rather than any sort of tanker.

From my experience, basically all you do is let your dogs and humongoid tank while you drop acid and spiders on everything. Witch doctor is VERY easy to play and has great survivability, so it's probably the most newb friendly class.

My WD is almost completely direct damage. The only pets I have are the dogs that spawn from the talent from Grasp of the Dead. I kite with him, pretty much. I do have the Templar as my companion, though.

I think I found another reason why...My WD is at level 34, with 24 hours played (was in Nightmare Act I). My Wizard is at level 31, with almsot 8 hours played. I'm aware there's a 50% buff right now, and I'm playing on hard rather than normal, but still. My WD was almost constantly wearing as much +exp as I could, but since monsters didn't scale, the effect was lost quite often and outleveling the monsters was annoying. With monsters scaling (partly), I can level much faster and keep having fun.

So, I reinstalled recently and gave things a try. I jumped on an old level 19 wizard I had that was in act 2. Starting out, wearing the gear she had found before the new patch, she was equipped in some pretty awful junk. Her best item was +9 to intelligence, and some of her items had +strength on them just because she had nothing else to slot in there.

30 minutes of playing later, her lowest level bonus on items is +30 intelligence, and most of the stuff she's wearing has far more, and is rare or better in quality. The only item she hasn't replaced was her weapon, which is a grey wand with a huge fucking ruby slotted into it, which was the only way pre-patch to get any decent stats.

Played with my 54 witch doctor for a while. I forgot how much fun it was to literally rain death down upon my opponents while shotgun blasting Spirit Barrage.

Been playing this lately. Created a guy (actually a gal) yesterday and I hit level 40 today. Playing on hard for extra exp and the community exp boost = GREAT exp.

They really have improved this game. I'm actually having fun playing it again.

Been playing the original stuff... yeah, this game is a lot more fun. I only get drops I can USE now (except for Blizzard giving me fucktons of flails to "encourage" me to buy the dlc) so I don't hit the brickwalls like before. Witch Doctors have a ton more survivability now... I haven't died once on Hard.

Yeah, I've been playing the shit out of this game now. Haven't ponied up the $40 for a DLC yet, though. But the adventure thing sounds cool as well as the arena and Crusader.

I have the expansion, but right now...Well, my WD finished the original game, but I'm having way more fun with the Wiz, so I want to play her through. Too bad she's still only up to Act II. No matter what, I can't shake my OCD there-'ll-be-a-unique-in-the-one-corner-of-the-map-I-don't-clear-problem.

I may go try out the adventuring and the arena for a bit just to play something new.

Oh, the opening cinematic is pretty great. What you'd expect from Blizzard, but that 's still bloody well good. Malthael...Depends on the story they weave, as the "base" story of DIII wasn't all that much to shout about, but I can see him being a better/more interesting villain than Baal. At least it's not just "hey, the Big Bad you just killed? Here's his younger brother no-one cared about 'till now, but who's suddenly and oddly stronger than he is".[DOUBLEPOST=1395763542,1395763489][/DOUBLEPOST]Hah! For Adventuring Mode, you have to have "finished the game" - as in, Act V. Oh well.

I forgot what my Blizzard account name was. xD
Cant download it anymore. Going back to Day Z and Payday 2.
If you have a box with any of your old cd keys, you can call blizzard support and they can restore your stuff for you.

As for reaper of souls, the Crusader is a ton of fun. He gains a passive ability to be able to wield two-handed weapons in one hand and still use a shield! I squee'ed when I got blessed hammer as an ability.

Well... I just completed a Hard run of Diablo 3 with my Witch Doctor. I never used a potion and never died. I didn't even lose my dogs or gargantuan. So... yeah. I guess Hard is the new normal?

Same. I finished last night with a Monk on hard. Now I'm making an expert run.

But I love the monk. He can either do a good amount of 1-to-1 damage or go full crowd control and be able to attack in a 360 degree arc (with a lot less damage), which is very nice. Add in the fact that I get back almost a 1,000 HP each time I hit and I have a character that doesn't lose health very quickly. And then I add in the Templar whose sole mission is to heal me, and I have a great character, even if some of the dicier fights can take a long time.

Exploding palm is the most fun skill ever, just throwing that out there.

I'm still a big fan of Acid Cloud with Acid Rain. What, you have 40+ enemies after me? I laugh as your flesh and bones melt from my toxic downpour.

Well, I still have your Battletag, but I don't know the email address.

Also, I have completed the game with (at least) one of every class pre-expansion, just sprung for the expansion as a birthday gift for Cranky, we are having a good time with it. We still haven't completed Act V yet, so we haven't experimented with the rifts/etc yet, but I do know there are items you can only get from rifts, so we'll be plumbing their depths at some point.

So... how do I use elective mode to use more than one spell from a school? All it seems let me do is switch which keys use the ability. I'd love to drop something for Big Bad Voodoo.

With Elective Mode active, right-click on the icon in the hotbar you want to change. Cycle through all possible skills/spells with the arrows on the side, choose one and a rune, presto.
Mind that, even with elective mode, some skills aren't allowed on the left and right mouse buttons.

Probably. I started up on normal since I have not played in awhile, and I am disintegrating everything. 20 guys come at me? Hold down mouse and spin around, everything is dead. That is without even activating Archon, which cuts through rare enemies like a knife through butter.

To be honest it's rather refreshing. I loved D2 because I loved getting on my Sorc or Assassin and just ripping everything to shreds. I lost that feeling in D3 because the loot kept making me weak compared to where I was in difficulty. First time I played with Loot 2.0 I got a whole set of gear twice as good as what I had, and now I feel like the overpowered bitch I wanted to be.

Yup. I pretty consistently kill everything around me on Hard. Tried Expert, but at this point in time, while I *can* make progress there, it involves more kiting and retreating and managing potions. I'm having way more fun on Hard. Obviously, once "going forward through story/levels" isn't the primary goal, but loot acquiring is, it'd make sense to play higher. Now I just want to get to the end of Act IV and start killing those bad guys :p

As a Crusader currently in act 2, I was able to switch to my resistance and defense aura and still plow through Expert like a rampaging bull. It's awesome.

I'm not cutting through stuff like it was butter on Expert, but I'd still hardly call it difficult. It just means I need to dump all of my mana into Acid Cloud and not just half of it like before. Not sure what I'll d for big bosses though... I could drop my Gargantuan and pick up Haunt and Spirit Barrage, but I'd only be using it FOR bosses. Maybe things will be different when I hit 61 and get Piranhas.

Loot 2.0 is great. My first drop on Expert? A level 53 unique sword with 500+ dps... though it doesn't come close to matching the amulet I got before Izual. It full absorbs ice damage, so I freezing mobs can't hurt me at all.

I have gotten nothing that is immune from damage of any sort. Looking forward to it.

I just switched from dual wielding doing 33K damage to a monk staff doing 54K or so. I took a 10K hit on my hit points, but the damage more than makes up for it.

@Bubble181 already gave the directions, but keep in mind that not only are some skills not allowed to be bound to the mouse buttons, but also you won't be able to have two different runes bound to keys. So you won't be able to have hotkey 1 be Acid Cloud:Acid Rain, but have hotkey 2 be Acid Cloud:Slow Burn, for instance. If you are using Acid Cloud, you can only have one key bound to one type of Acid Cloud even if you have elective mode enabled.

I managed to get the one that makes you immune to Arcane Damage. It is the single best item I have ever had in game. Mobs be putting up arcane sentries all over the place, and I be like, "Oh please, Mr. Elite. Please don't throw me in that thar briar patch."

Is there any point in using two-handed weapons? I've never seen a two-handed weapon that would out damage a single weapon and a mojo. Or is it just that certain weapons are better for certain classes?

Not sure, to tell you the truth. I just know that the stats were green as hell so I tried it on, only to watch my damage go from 33K to 54K. I then switched out a couple of other items to get my HP back up while not nerfing my damage that badly.

Add in the fact that I'm a monk, not a witch doctor, and the mojo just doesn't compute.
