Kags' Cosplay Thread

I'm so in love with Ahri it hurts me. I mean, c'mon, FOX! :D

Haha, shamefully if I were to do Foxfire Ahri, I wouldn't even use the tails I have. I'd make new ones that are more satisfactory to me because my old ones are pretty sad. =^^=

I'm feeling oddly desperate. I have a convention in 3 weeks and...I really have nothing planned as far as cosplay goes. I will for sure being doing Clary from The Mortal Instruments because my friend wants me to, but other than that, I got nothing.

I've waffled between Ramona (Scott Pilgrim) J. Scott Cambell's Mary Jane or bringing something out of retirement (Poison Ivy?, femLink?), or even just wearing my crazy Black Milk stuff and wigs.

But I just don't know. Right now everything I want to cosplay is much to complicated/expensive to knock out in three weeks, any ideas for what I could do? A costume that wouldn't be to much of an expense, but would still be fun?

GAH, I don't think I've ever had this hard of a time deciding. I'd love some thoughts or ideas from you guys, please. :)

Are you going solo or with people? Maybe you could come up with a group costume? Or be an ancillary character to someone else's cosplay?

When Li'l Z was the Monkey King for Halloween, I tossed on a giant banana costume to go with him. It wasn't fancy, but thematically it worked. :D

An idea: go as a "regular Jane" convention goer. Except have a lanyard from another con, and a bag from a second convention, and wear a t-shirt that is the exact opposite of the convention you're going for, and bring a map of the San Diego Convention Center. Constantly mumble, "Where's exhibit hall C-3?" And have your friends try to take pictures of you, but put up your hands to block the shot.

It'll be solo. There's no time to come up with a group costume with the people I'm going with, especially because I would need to make all of their costumes. My one friend is doing Elizabeth from Bioshock Infinite and I suppose I could do something with her, but I'm not really interested. So, I'd rather it just be a solo costume. =^^=

You might try an archetype rather than an actual character, i.e., "cat girl" instead of "Felicia," or "demon" instead of "Morrigan." That would let you make your own choices about color, composition, etc.

I give up. I'll just do what I had originally planned: J Scott's Mary Jane. I mean, I'm more than halfway done anyway, just need to paint the Spider-Man face on and get some shoes.

(Ha, it's way to early to be dressed and presentable - hair did and makeup on)

EDIT:
Guess I should post a pic of MJ for reference.

I don't know how you will manage that pose for a whole weekend but I would start doing some intense yoga right now. ;)

Now you just need a friend to wheel you around on a swivel-chair so you can make that ridiculous pose... and of course have someone to keep your coffee topped off.

Easiest costume I have ever made.

I'm most excited that it's comfortable! This might become a convention staple just because it's super portable, fun and FLAT SHOES! (which I don't have yet, but they will be flat.)

Just don't go all out on that MJ cosplay and do that pose...the human body can't pose that way unless you're a contortionist, and even they look at that illustration and go, "Damn..."

Haha, I always feel bad when people make fun of that pose because...I know the girl the pose is modeled after and she legit sits like that. :)

I'll practice with supervision so I don't hurt myself! I promise.
