It's legal to suspend someone for any or no reason.. legality doesn't figure in such things at all. There usually are other methods of redress, however.
Legal was the wrong choice of word, I wasn't thinking criminality. I meant in terms of contract with the college, but then I have no idea if he's a part of a union or what the school's policies are.
And that is why I try to share very little via Facebook.

I guess I'm just bummed about the Cersei/Jaime scene.
It was fucked in the books, but at least it was consent. I feel like they just ruined all of his character development right there.
It was… kind of consent in the book. It actually was disturbingly close to the old frat boy "she says no but look! She wants it!" so I'm actually okay with making it slightly more black and white. Everyone WANTS Jaimie to be the good guy, but he's not. Even in the books. He's a profoundly messed up person, but he has a sense of honor sometimes.
Maybe. Maybe not. Either way the show has already made moves to push characters in slightly different directions than the books so this only serves to further that. Doesn't mean people have to like it, I mean, hell, no one "likes" when this happens, but I think it probably serves the story better since they've already shown how far apart these two are. Not to mention Cersie and Joffrey were treating Jaime like shit so it the dude is pissed and he acted out of that anger, so sadly, yeah, it feels in character for show Jaime.

Not to mention that after the book the show is currently in, it starts to get kinda tedious to read.
Which is, I think, probably part of why they did it. I get it's controversial and I'm not arguing it was a "good" choice, but I get why they went that way.

Considering Jaime is one of the rare male characters in this barbaric setting who recognizes how terrible rape is, saves Brienne from it, it's not just a disturbing decision for a change, it's a stupid one.
He and Barristan Selmy are competing for who can see the most royal leaders die under their watch.

... it opens the door to all the upcoming Cersei psychobitch explosion nonsense to be blamed as having been triggered by her brother raping her as a mitigating circumstance, rather than just Cersei being Cersei and revealing herself to not be so much smart as just plain vicious. Before, it'd have been a character revelation. Now, show watchers will blame her lunacy on Jaime.
Reading an interview with the director, the director of the episode thought he was showing something that went wanted, forced, wanted again. That mother fucker fucked up. That shit was a straight up rape. The showrunners saw rape, GRRM saw rape, the audience saw rape.
That was straight up a rape.
