Normal should be named super easy. I'd recommend you play, on hard at the very least.I went through Act 5 once on normal and didn't die....I guess I can up the difficulty for the next go.
I know how you feel. I'm off all week and can't play. But the guy watching our house is!I'm away for 4 days moving, so there's some prime leveling time lost while I go play at being an adult for a week.

Keep in mind that some modifiers (those listed with a small diamond next to them) on items are -not- calculated into the stat % changes on the display.i've been using the Unique Orb that gives 2 extra Magic Missiles since level 60 or so, the item's level 52. I finally found another off-hand that claims to give me +25% damage, and has a +14% on Electrocute - so maybe I could change out my MM for Electrocute again, change my playstyle a little? Meh. Numbers go way up, but with Electrocute and the new item Ghom takes 58 seconds and with MM and the Unique orb he takes 23 seconds. Add the fact that my MM are piercing and....yeah, I'l lbe throwing around triple fireballs for a while longer (both times at Master, for clarity's sake - I still suck )
I'm perfectly aware. Which is why I tried it on Ghom. Which is why I'm sticking with the UniqueKeep in mind that some modifiers (those listed with a small diamond next to them) on items are -not- calculated into the stat % changes on the display.
The only bad part are the treasure goblins. Am I the only one that can't kill them fast enough?
These little buggers are my prime motivation for increasing my damage output. My toughness is really high and I can kite bosses pretty well, but none of that means anything to a goblin that you can't freeze, stun, slow, or even stay within punching distance before he decides to hop through his portal to Screwyouville.Treasure goblins in torment suuuuck! [...] I have to drop everything and give chase but it's usually too late.
Yes and no. Set pieces which drop in Master and below will still drop in Torment, but they have decided that some sets simply will not drop unless you are playing in Torment difficulty. For the most part, these are the class-specific sets, but it also includes things like the legendary potions and follower items. What happens in Torment? Do the same set pieces drop but better versions?
Start at III and dial it back as needed. Right now I is perfect for me. I keep waiting to find some of these "torment only" drops I keep hearing about.[DOUBLEPOST=1398526200,1398525877][/DOUBLEPOST]By the way, this chart should help out a bit to decide things.I have a bucket of diet coke and a lot of health potions...torment here I come!
Yes.I have the plans to make the weapon/portal.
I did most of the Act 2 bounties on T1 with no troubles. Zoltan Kulle destroyed me and I swapped to Master for him. On Master I killed him easily. I'm probably geared somewhere between the two levels. I only have 17 paragon levels if that's a factor. Speaking of which, they are shared between characters?
slight upgrade eh?So I found this weapon while I was playing my level 70 Monk. I noticed it had a secondary effect. I put it into the stash and loaded my level 44 Crusader.
Yeah. I think I'm switching weapons.

I went from 3k damage to 54k or so. I had to ratchet it up to Torment III or I was 1-shotting everything. And by everything I mean even uniques, bosses, and treasure goblins.slight upgrade eh?
Don't worry, that'll change as soon as you get to the 60's.I went from 3k damage to 54k or so. I had to ratchet it up to Torment III or I was 1-shotting everything. And by everything I mean even uniques, bosses, and treasure goblins.
Make sure to make yourself a bunch of Hellfire rings before you get the expansion. Because I already upgraded, I don't know (and can't test) if you can still get the parts (eye/fang/spine) for the lvl60 Hellfire rings from the Uber bosses. If you can, make some good ones, because I believe once you get the expansion you can only build the lvl70 rings.Yeah... at level 60, playing as my Wizard on Torment is kind of pointless. I guess I'll have to get the DLC at some point.
As do I, and I'm a bit annoyed that I can't upgrade it. I never bought the plans, you see, so I'm forever stuck with the Nightmarish staff. Even though I have the plans for the Infernal staff, because I never bought the plans for the Hellish staff, I can't upgrade it all the way. Waah.I have the staff.
Nope. The quest mechanics don't care about your chosen difficulty level any longer ("you can't do that in Nightmare, have to at least be Hell difficulty), because it's all one game now. Monster difficulty depends on the level of the party leader now, not the chosen difficulty category. It's like the current difficulty levels (Easy/Hard/Expert/Master/Torment) just determine the base monster difficulty (we'll call it X), and then your character level determines the multiplier (X*1 at level 1, X*17 at level 17, etc). This is not arithmetically accurate, but it's a reasonable approximation. As far as the staff goes, you'll notice there's only one staff for everything now, and the other three don't even have recipes any more.Do the staff levels matter now to access it in Torment?
I've changed my mind.I managed to get the [amulet] that makes you immune to Arcane Damage. It is the single best item I have ever had in game.
