Whine like a baby, now with 500% more drama!

So fucking stressed right now.

Work, parents, girlfriend, friends. I want to devote more time to each one, and I can't. I just end up choosing one and feeling guilty about the other three.

It's like I can't win. :(

Social life wackamole!

In my own case toothpain for a week while I first find a new dentist and second get the work done.

I have to flush my rat's surgical opening with iodine three times a day until Thursday night. The vet said he wanted us to use iodine because it would be okay if it got in the rat's eye.

Well, that's good, because when he flinched and re-aimed the syringe, the iodine went into an eye. Plot twist--it wasn't his.

Also, this recent illness has convinced my wife that I need to see a doctor next week, so that sucks too.

XBox live support is useless! I was trying to re-download Elder Scrolls Oblivion because I had an inkling to play it. But some of the addons wouldn't download, 4 of them to be specific. Would simply say "can't download The Vile Lair" etc. Base game and the other expansions downloaded just fine. So I start a chat with live support. They made me look at my purchase history, to make sure they were on there. Why they couldn't just look themselves I have no idea but apparently they preferred to have me look and then take my word for it. After that they became even more useless. They said I had to contact Bethesda Game Studios, because the downloads are provided from them and this was not a problem on XBox Lives end. Not sure what to think about that. How the hell am I suppose to get a Bethesda provided fix on my XBox? Guess they no longer frown upon their users finding their own solutions and modding content on their console. Or maybe they just meant to suggest that it's my job figure out why Bethesda are having broken downloads that are sold on the XBox Live marketplace. Fuck, that doesn't make any sense either. I'm guessing what they really wanted was for me to go away.

Housing can't fix our air conditioner until next week. We've already been without for the past 10 days. At least the tradewinds are back so we've been able to shut off all of the fans except one in the upstairs that's keeping air circulating around up there.

There's a special kind of disappointment that comes when waiting months for a new album by an artist you love, and then for it to be lackluster when it finally comes out.

It's not even like the songs are bad (except maybe one); but several are just meh, not a lot to them kind of songs. Maybe this wouldn't be such a big deal, except her last album blew my fucking mind. I still listen to it probably once a week despite it coming out nearly two and a half years ago. This one ... probably five or six good songs, but nothing special. This was supposed to be a return to form for Tori Amos, according to advertisements. The worst thing is, much as I bitch, I know this is probably a lame album because she's in a good place right now. The worse her mood, the better the CD, at least from what my wife has gauged from interviews in correlation to albums.

On the upside, new CD = new concert tour, so at least we'll have that to go to in August.

The problem with cartooning on an iPad is that you eventually run out of room for work files. My Artstudio files for all those Supervillainous strips are starting to add up, and I need to clear some space. I can export the files as PSDs and e-mail them to myself. It's a time-consuming process to re-import them should it need to. I also need to get a new PS Elements as my old PS 5.0 finally aged out through Windows updates.

I never planned on anything more than an e-book at best, it was always going to just be a web-only venture. This will be a loooong process to send them all to myself.

I don't use an ipad, but certainly there's some method of external storage on it, right?

Hah. HA HA HA.

Actually that's even a thing with the nexus 7 - no external storage slots. Even transferring stuff via USB is more complicated than it should be. At least you can get a free samba client for android that lets you connect to a shared windows folder on your network. But 9 times out of 10, I find the simplest way to get things to/from my tablet and PC is by using dropbox as an intermediary.

External Storage. That's cute. There's a reason Apple can charge gouging prices to double the HD space on iPads.

If the app is one that supports import/export, you should be able to see anything exportable while you are connected to iTunes. Then you can shuffle them on/off your iOS thingie as needed.
(before iCloud, this was the ONLY way to reliably back up your Pages/Numbers docs, for instance)

My department is run by a "person" with no academic experience - she has always managed the career & personal development side of things: certificates, hobby classes, etc. Nothing for credit or a degree, but programs that bring in revenue to the college. So naturally she's a good choice to run the library. Oh, and she's not even based on the same campus as we are; she's in another town 15 miles away.

This would be great except she's recently decided she has to micromanage us, without knowing what we do or coming to the campus. So every hour we have to stop what we're doing, go around the library, count how many people are there and what they're doing, recording it, and send the information to her. Mind you, this is during finals week.

The college is advertising work study position in the tutoring center, library, and student services office. My supervisor, the head librarian (but not library director, since that's a department head) chose two applicants, one of whom has worked with us before (she was okay). She contacted our department head for approval. "No, I can't justify having 2 work study students, plus the two staff already there, for the summer." Yup, 4 people (equal to 2 full time positions) is way overstaffed for us.

So this micromanager isn't even on campus, and you have to provide information every hour? Sounds like an opportunity for fun.

9AM thirty seven students, reading and studying
10AM forty nine students studying, eight drunk students hauling in a keg - moving to stop them
11AM sixty eight drunk students, authorities summoned
12AM two hundred and seventy three-ish drunk students partying and tearing up the library, fourteen cops arriving
1AM four hundred twenty five drunk students, eighty-six cops from various communities, rioting has broken out
2AM 0 students and staff, thirty two firefighters

Spiderforest is down. I can't update Supervillainous until it's fixed.

Edit. IS BACK.

First day with a new mayor and I have to make a program that will cost their jobs to 8 people. It's good for the city, but I still feel guilty about it.

This baby needs to come out.

It already 8 pounds (with 421g of error) and it is hurting so badly. Every movement feels bone shattering. I feel like a miniature furnace and I have had a full night of rest in many nights.

Please. Please.

First off, that's the best birthday to have. Especially for a girl. I'm just sayin'. ;)

Secondly, (ignoring the peanut gallery above for a moment), at least you're in the last leg of it and she's considered full-term at this point. And though it's been a little while, since you've had Jet this won't be a new process for you. I remember how rough the last month is, so you have my full sympathy. I'd say at this point elevate your legs any chance you get to give your lower-half a break, and don't hesitate to ask Blu for a little more help to give your body a break. Any way you can get a foot massage or reflexology to give you a little relief? It did wonders for me (of course I also have a father who's a massage therapist, so I got it for free.) Fingers crossed it goes quickly!
