My thing with Brazelton threads: stop trying to be clever with the title. Stop using character names, stop using catch phrases, stop using references to obscure shit that nobody cares about, stop the turns of phrase. At the very least put the person's name in the title so we can know who died and not have to puzzle it out or come in and read if we don't want to. If this was really about respect for the dead, the title could at least acknowledge who they were.
I'm not specifically targeting this thread; there have been others and it's annoying.
I don't have a problem ignoring the threads as they happen. While as time goes on I at least know who more of the dying celebrities are, the last ones to actually upset me were two people who inspired me as a child and who most people didn't give a shit about, so it doesn't bother me to see the names of people who don't matter to me for the most part, and if it was someone who I cared about, I would probably be making the thread or participating in it. It's give and take; a celebrity one person doesn't care about and doesn't care to know of their death might be a big deal to another poster. There's no way to assign merit as to whether the celebrity is big or important enough to get attention.
