Whine like a baby, now with 500% more drama!

I used to use the peroxide catalytic cleaning system. Even after rinsing and rinsing, my eyes would burn something awful. I'm glad your eye will be ok.
You are a braver soul than I for willingly using that process. There is not enough "Nope!" in the universe to ever make me to near that stuff again.

Yay, I have a chemical burn on my right eye.

It would seem that when I bought what I THOUGHT was my usual contact cleaning solution (same extact box, same extact location in the store), it was not the multi-purpose solution that can go near your eyes. 16 years of wearing contacts and I've never heard of such a thing. I don't know why they make it, except that the doctor said some people are allergic to the usual daily solution. You'd think a product that's used on stuff that goes in your eyes would advertise more clearly that it shouldn't make contact WITH your eyes, even in very tiny amounts.

The good news is according to the doctor, I acted quickly enough, clawing the contact out of my eye and rising, rising, rising, that there doesn't seem to be any serious damage. I can't wear contacts for 3 days and I have to treat it with some stuff, but hey, eyesight still in tact!

(PS: if you've ever wondered what even a small amount of hydrogen peroxide feels like in your eye....don't.)
I have done exactly this, I know your pain.

I hate contacts so much that I now only wear glasses.

Hmm.... Filing peroxide in the eyes for future literary reference...

Glad you were able to act quickly enough! I can't stand the thought of monkeying about with my eyes long enough to get contacts in them, and rumor has it that they sort of melt if exposed to OC spray....

Oh boy, here comes the ultimate first world problem whine -

I like the Tapatalk app, on my new phone it actually loads threads faster than the browser on my work PC (ESPECIALLY threads with lots of pictures and videos)... but the feedly app's "sharing" options don't mesh well with Tapatalk, so I can't easily copy/paste/share funny pictures and videos from feedly to tapatalk like I can on the PC! Augh! This makes it near useless to me! I don't want to browse feedly on my phone because it has historically been unreliable about the "mark as unread" option, which means if I see something funny I want to post here, I'm SOL because by the time I get to my PC it'll be buried and long gone in a huge pile of read items!

TLDR: Waah my handheld access to the entirety of all human knowledge doesn't cater to my specific niche habits!

Disappointed that the humble bundles these last few months have very few drm free games (if any), and the majority aren't cross platform.

Guess now that they're popular they don't need to serve the niche that made them successful in the first place.
No, it's actually that they became so popular that people would do dozens of orders at once and then sell them off once the sale ended at inflated prices. People were using Humble Bundle as a middleman to fill their own stores for pennies on the dollar. Once that started happening on a significant scale, everyone basically said "Hey... we like the idea of your charity drive, but we need to control our inventory. Start using Steam."

It's a small compromise of their vision, but as long as I can decide how much the publishers get and how much the charities get, I can deal with it.

I'm getting LASIK tomorrow and while I'm really excited for it, I hate these eyedrops I have to use. Every time, I taste them in the back of my throat for like an hour and it's disgusting.

LASIK was the best thing I ever had done for myself. You'll want to find some eyedrops you can stand though, you're going to need them.

Or, I've found for a quick eye-lubricating fix, carry a pair of tweezers around, and when your eyes feel particularly dry, pluck a nose hair.

Yeah these are just prescribed though. Not eye moistening ones. I'm stuck with them for a few weeks. I'm Definitley looking forward to not needing glasses anymore though.

Ahh yeah, I remember those drops. They do taste kinda funny in the back of the throat.

But you will need some OTC eye drops. You will have dry eyes the rest of your life. But it's so worth it.

Damned jealous here. I'm one of those unlucky bastards who's not eligible for it because my eyes change CONSTANTLY. My Ophthalmologist is even a guy who does it, and told me straight-out that he could, but I'd just need glasses in a year or two again. So he would not do it even if I wanted him to because it's not right.

Grrrrrr.

I can't get lasik either Eriol if it makes you feel better. =^^=

I can however get permanent contacts which just freaks me out. So, I don't know why I'm not eligible for lasik, I think it has something to do with my prescription being so high - I'm legally blind without corrective specs/contacts. But yeah!

I've heard mixed things about the dry eyes. I just had two friends that had it done and one of them says she hasn't had any issues with it while the other has had it really bad. I had plugs put in to keep my eyes more wet and I might make it a permanent thing. Either way I'll Definitley prefer that to glasses.

My whine is that I don't have enough pull at my job to take off whenever and fly to a distant land. Because right now I want to go and see Leigh and hold his hand. Also I've been promising Gusto/el Norte/Kev a beer for like 7 years....

If I still lived only 3 hours away, I'd be seriously considering it as a "this weekend drive up" thing. But unfortunately I live on the other side of the continent/country now.

With me, it's kind of both. My eyes are always dry, but I don't FEEL it. At least, not until the gunk really starts to build up. So I have to moisurize even though I don't feel like I need it, to prevent them from getting red and gross.

After the week I've been having with my eye, I'd gladly trade with you. It has made LASIK look really, really tempting.

My eyes have been degenerating since I first found I needed corrective eyewear. I imagine I'll -have- to get LASIK at some point. If it weren't for contacts/glasses I wouldn't be able to function in the world. Certainly couldn't drive.

Bah, work had a @Gared moment today. Purchasing and inventory decided upon their own to decide what items to stock and at what levels without consulting production (me). Yet oddly enough I have more experience in purchasing and inventory control than both of them combined....

Will you then hire someone else to fire Nick? And then someone elser to fire the Nick-firer? And so on until you have hired/fired everyone in the world? And then what? Doomweasels?
Actually, I would keep Nick around and let him do all the firing, since it gives him such obvious pleasure. Then, when there is no one left to fire...
Doomweasels!
