[Movies] The DC Cinematic Universe - The David Zazlav Dumpster Fire.

I honestly like the new batmobile, but that might be due to the fact I like it being a bit more customized and not just a military tank thing that he decided to pillage from a warehouse and paint black.

Hey guys, remember when Batman didn't like guns? Those were good times.
Even DC doesn't read their own comics anymore. "Superman saves lives? Batman doesn't believe in guns because one killed his parents? What's this tree-hugging bull?! More destruction! More bullets! Blockbuster ahoy! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" *cross-eyed and foaming at the mouth*

EDIT: Just remembered...didn't Burton's Batmobile have guns used to cut through a wall or something? Or am I crazy and thinking of the wrong movie? I still think either way they're taking this in the wrong direction.

you're not. It was terrible. Of course the Burton movies are pretty terrible in general, but that's another topic for another time.

Batman straight up murders several goons in Burton's movies, especially Returns.

At the time, I thought this scene was totally awesome. Then I grew up and appreciated superheroes who didn't kill.

See the guns are too much of a stretch. You can't tell me the American Law Enforcement agencies would not hunt down a vigilante with twin 50 caliber machine guns mounted on his armored vehicle.

Not if they wanted to keep getting the good hardware from Wayne Enterprises.

I think a bigger breach in that movie is when Batman uses the fucking chain guns in his Batmobile and bombs to blow up a chemical factory filled with Joker Goons in the middle of a busy city.

There have always been certain levels of threat where Batman would be alright with using stuff like missiles, lasers, and explosives... basically anything he couldn't punch/kick into unconsciousness or that he knew wasn't alive. Unfortunately, I kind of feel like these are going to be used on a bunch of thugs.

Snyder tweeted an official photo of the new Batmobiile.

Well, if they're using The Dark Knight Returns as a basis, then that batmobile is actually pretty accurate. The Batmobile in Frank Miller's TDKR was a tank with twin mounted cannons on the front.

Hey, if the internet has taught me anything (if you dared call out MoS), it's that decades of established in-universe canon and things explicitly expressed through character interactions and dialogue are just your personal interpretations, and Snyder has every right to make his own interpretation.

So the "World's Greatest Detective" can't find his own car, even with Superman around?

Warner Bros. has officially revealed their slate of DC Comics films.

  • Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)
  • Suicide Squad (August 5, 2016)
  • Wonder Woman (June 23, 2017)
  • Justice League Part One (November 12, 2017)
  • The Flash (March 28, 2018)
  • Aquaman (July 27, 2018)
  • Shazam (April 5, 2019)
  • Justice League Part Two (June 14, 2019)
  • Cyborg (April 3, 2020)
  • Green Lantern (June 19, 2020)

I feel like they're putting Justice League a little too soon. On the other hand, Wonder Woman is slated for right after my birthday? I would be so excited for this if I wasn't underwhelmed by the Wonder Woman news they've released so far. I'm willing to give Gal Gadot a shot, but I really wish they weren't using the New 52 origin. I wish they were using the Marston/Perez established origin, instead, which doesn't make her seem like a Hercules rip-off.

So.... The Flash TV series just started..... in 3 years will we have to re-cast him and re-do the origin? And Suicide Squad before Wonder Woman!? Seriously? Also, I guess they are hoping that by 2020 we'll have forgotten how bad the last Green Lantern movie was. Hardly matters since once the first three underperform, WB will scrap this whole plan and reboot Batman anyway.

It's kind of a Catch-22: If BvS* does well, DC will think "everyone loved 'grim n'gritty'! Make them all that way!", but if BvS underperforms, DC may pull some or all of the other titles, thinking people don't want superhero movies. They need a third option: does not like Zack Snyder-directed superheroes.

Speaking of The Flash, I read they have cast Ezra Miller from The Perks of Being a Wallflower and We Need to Talk About Kevin as The Flash, in which case...interesting? I think? Neither of those roles would make me think of The Flash, but go ahead and surprise me, DC.

*Italics are weird. That should be "Batman V. Superman", not "bus".

Superman Returns came out while Smallville was on the air, and Tom Welling wasn't replaced. It's also been stated that the TV shows will never (for however long that is) be connected with the movies.
