Does anyone have dibs on raiding the ocean monument that isn't far from spawn? I've nearly got enough supplies to be successful.

- Helmet with Respiration III
- Book of Depth Strider
- I might have Aqua Affinity... not sure.
- Potions of Underwater Breathing, Night Vision, Healing, etc.

I have one by me, I'm not going to stop anyone from raiding it, since I probably won't get to it for a while, but I would like to do something with it eventually.

I lit up an island near the one I plan to hit with torches. If it's not near a lit up island you are probably ok.

Okay, coordinates for the one I found (and has undoubtedly been found by others) is at -700, -120. It's within sight of someone's settlement at -540, 140 ish, that person has a lot of animals in pens, a fairly large complex that's starting to look good, but their Nether portal isn't active, and I couldn't find any signs saying who they are.

Second, Depth Strider is amazing! Holy crap, why didn't I enchant my boots with this sooner? This is going to make slime hunting so much more fun. I've got a second book with it, if anyone is interested. It makes moving through the water so much easier. This is one of those enchantments you don't want to live without.[DOUBLEPOST=1410995642,1410995246][/DOUBLEPOST]Here's where the Monument is on the map:

I don't even know what those are.
Ocean Monuments are the new Jungle/Desert Temple, only this time they're more well guarded. They are underwater buildings that appear in deep enough oceans, and contain some cool and dangerous stuff. They're guarded by powerful fish monsters called Guardians, the premium version of which, the Elder Guardian, afflicts you with mining fatigue, so it's really hard to just dig your way in.

Rewards to be found include: Sponges, Sea Lanterns, Prismarine blocks, etc.

That would be me. go for it. my portal is under my mountain.
Sweet. I'm not quite ready yet. I've watched some footage of an attempt, and it looks like it can be rough. I'm probably more than well equipped enough, but I'm a bit of a coward. I've got potions to brew, gear to combine, and I'm not up to the stress of an assault yet.

I did a bit of digging, and put some supplies in the chest at spawn for making nether tunnels. I'll put a screenshot below of what seems like a good set up for them, I'm guessing @Eriol The floor I was thinking smooth stone.

If you need help or want someone to connect you, just post here and I'm sure someone will do it. I kinda like doing it.

I've got a portal, that's sheltered, but it doesn't have any windows, and it doesn't connect with the rest of the Network (though it's a really short hop over to Eriol's. If you feel like making mine connect properly, I'd be grateful. Feel free to take any building materials you need from my base. Just go to the first floor of the building my nether portal is at the top of, and take whatever you need from the chests. Should be a ton of glass for you to use.

You are set. I didn't redo what you had. I figure we should get everyone connected first.

I'm going to have to figure something out for the nether. I am too close to spawn, which surprises me because I thought I'd wandered far.

Have you made a portal in your place yet? just post the coords of it and we can get it working.

Yeah, but I took it down again. When I went in I was at the Spawn hut portal. I'm going to make another one with a covered walkway between my place and my son's.

You'll almost always come back through someone elses portal. It's just the way it works. You have to take down the coords where you make your portal in the real world, go through, divide the coords by 8, then make a portal in the nether at those coords.

Sheesh.... three of the underwater temples so far! I was playing on one of my new worlds and have yet to find one of them. I would love to take one on, but I've a) either been so tired lately b) not really interested c) working on wrangling villagers into spawn for both the iron farm and the trading huts. Which I'll have the farmers/fishers hut ready by bedtime tonight, and the smiths one started. I have part of the Titans footprint mapped out under spawn so as not to destroy or put an ugly build on top. Just need to cut out spots for air access with glass in place. WHee!!!!

I will take credit for the general design from the previous server, but that particular section wasn't me. I use glass panes, not blocks. ;) I also tend to "stripe" the windows with Nether Brick, so that it's broken up slightly, uses less glass (this mostly), and looks more interesting than an unending glass section.

I did that section, it's on the way to mine. But yeah, we don't need to do all glass.

Are you on the network, and if so, where?
Yes, I'm on the network, very close to your portal, actually. When you get to my place, just take the ladder down to the first floor. The "village" is through the north doorway, but be careful not to let any of the villagers out. I'm still trying to make an entrance that they'll stay away from, and not hurt themselves on.

I have a villager offering books of Efficiency 5 for 64 Emeralds.
Well, I screwed up and the villager who had this deal is dead. I don't know if I didn't light my new section of roof well enough, or if a zombie siege forced zombies inside my walls, but either way more than half my villagers died. Ironically I was converting a zombie villager in my main room at the time, and he turned out to be a cleric. If anyone wants to sell of all their rotten flesh, I've already gotten quite a few emeralds for mine.

My villagers are reproducing, and their iron golem is still around. (and now I've changed my village to make sure that he can get to all of it.)

Pez, I visited your place today, and I suggest a double-thick wall to keep out zombies. I've found too many things in this game where single-thick has NPCs of various types popping through them. So I suggest double-thick on that section.

On a lighter note, because I have a massive herd of cows, exchanging leather for emeralds is somewhat practical! On the downside, I wasted a number of them on bottles of enchanting. Give virtually zero experience. Don't waste your emeralds. They should have each bottle give a flat number of levels, and then they'd be somewhat worth it.

3-11 experience per bottle. Meaning you probably got as much experience just buying the bottle as you got from the actual bottle.

Assuming an average of 7 per bottle, that means you'd need about 44 of them to go from level 27 to level 30. Yeah, spending 88 - 484 emeralds just to enchant something at max level... Not worth it.[DOUBLEPOST=1411151473,1411151307][/DOUBLEPOST]

Ugh! I don't wanna. I probably will, but I hate double thick walls.

I have two extra horses if anyone wants to come all the way out to my place to get them. It will be obvious which ones are the extra. They are tamed but have no saddles, so bring your own saddles or leads.
