They talked about a reboot, but it never happened.

"but..."

I said, it never happened.

"but, Jackie Ear..."

NEVER....................
HAPPENED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!![DOUBLEPOST=1413555510,1413555304][/DOUBLEPOST]

Depends on the movie.

1,2,3 and New Nightmare are good movies, IMO.
2 is the most non sub-textual attempt at subtext I've ever seen.
HAY GUYS, GUESS WHAT.... FREDDY IN THIS MOVIE IS A METAPHOR FOR HOMOSEXUAL URGES..... DO YOU GET IT? OR DO I NEED TO YELL IT MORE LOUDLY AND OBVIOUSLY?????[DOUBLEPOST=1413555717][/DOUBLEPOST]In regards to most movies being, let's face it, not being very good; I have the box set of all of the movies through New Nightmare and they're so aware of the poor quality that they straight up "jump to a murder" selection right in the main menu.
I never saw New Nightmare. Is it any good? The idea of a meta-movie was intriguing, but I never got around to seeing it.

It's probably my second favorite of the series after the original one. It's probably the least gory of all the movies. Heather Langencamp is just great in it.

I need to find The Peanut Butter Solution, too. That movie is fairly nightmare inducing. Literally. I had this recurring nightmare for days after seeing it that kept me up. I remember there was push to get a home video release for it. It seems to have worked because there was a VHS release that Amazon carries. To bad I haven't owned a VCR in almost 10 years now.

A quick internet search shows me I wasn't the only pne freaked out by this movie.

Yeah, it's a lot more interesting than CITW. Cabin in the Woods is probably funnier though.

edit: I have no idea why I abbreviated it and then immediately typed it out, get it together charlie
I'd probably agree with this. New Nightmare is more about examining how and why horror movies work, where as Cabin in the Woods is more interested in simply showing us why we enjoy them even when they are often completely ridiculous. This makes New Nightmare scarier but Cabin n the Woods more entertaining.

The Book of Life: Really fun animated film, with some AMAZING designs. Not gonna like, its a bit of a juke-box musical but unlike Moulin Rouge where they pick a bunch of random crap, the songs they pick for this film actually work for the scenes. And as for negatives, I'ma just say they could've cast ANYONE other than Ice Cube and it would've been better, and the tour group kids didn't need to be in the story at all. Either way, not a bad film.

Watched Rocky for the first time. I enjoyed it, really good underdog tale, I can see why it's a classic. However... I was left kinda creeped out by the way Rocky treated Adrian on their first date. He walks her to his place, instead of taking her home. When she's uncomfortable and wants to call her brother, Rocky says he'll call for her, and then just yells out to everyone that she's with him. He tries to talk her into sitting on the couch with him, and then just takes off his shirt. When she tries to leave, he blocks the door. Then he tells her that he's going to kiss her, and that if she doesn't like it, she doesn't have to kiss him back. Is Rocky Balboa the original fedora wearing "nice guy"?

Rocky Balboa grows up a lot over the course of the first three films. I think that's part of the appeal. We get to watch him get stronger, but we get to watch him get smarter and wiser, too.

Are we sure he was written that way, or is it just Sylvester Stallone?
Some joke video the South Park guys did had Stallone acting like Rocky, and then after the end there was a clip of Stallone saying, "You guys know I'm not like that, right? Rocky's just a character, you know?" I think he wanted that in there because there are people who seriously don't know that.

Kevin Smith writes his movies and I'm pretty sure he doesn't act like Silent Bob in real life. For one thing, he talks a shitload more :p.
I think it's funny that in real life Jay and Silent Bob are pretty much reversed with Mews being the more reserved of the two.

Dead Silence: I saw this when it first came out on DVD and didn't really care for it. Interesting ideas, great visuals, but I didn't like it and couldn't remember why. Gave it a second chance tonight.

Now I remember--despite those good qualities, the characters and the ending twist are pretty stupid. Though I did like Detective Donnie Wahlberg this time.
