Kags' Cosplay Thread

@Ravenpoe @Mathias @GasBandit Wow, you guys sure know how to spoil a girl. Dem innuendos. ;)

@Null , thank you! I'm absolutely in love with the wig. Haha, that's funny, I don't think it's close to KOS-MOS's color it all. =^^= Unless you're talking about something other than Xenosaga. But that's the only KOS-MOS I know.

Also, I'll try and get around to posting my Halloween costume soon! It's all done and ready to go, I just haven't taken any pictures of it all together yet.
That's the one who I was thinking of, yeah. I guess hers is a few shades lighter, I guess more of a "white with blue rinse" than "blue with white highlights"

I can't wait to see more pics of this. This is probably my favourite of your costumes! :D
EHEEE, thank you! I feel like I'm being drawn to darker characters, or battle worn cosplays now and it's so fun!

I can't wait to add the little details that will take it up to that next level.

Couple of pic's from my Scarecrow photo shoot.

Since I was really limited with my budget and time (I made it in two weeks for a Halloween party), there are a number of details I left out that I hope I can get around to now. All of the stitches on the pants and hood - UGH, so much time because I would have to hand stitch everything. And then there's the buckles. I just ran out of money to get everything I needed for them. So, hopefully I can have a version 2 out sometime and do another photo session another time. More pic's to come! :D

So, since I asked this on my facebook page, I thought I may as well ask here too; If I were to cosplay Jessica Rabbit which version would you guys like to see? Her sequined show dress, or her regular red dress?

Also, I've been working on a 'holiday' themed outfit since my cos-sister and I want to squeeze in a photoshoot when she comes to visit in a couple of weeks. :D Excite!

I think that you could probably get some good mileage from her standard red dress.

Also, just for the record, nice.

That's a really tough call. The regular red dress would be simpler and you'd probably get more mileage out of it, but the red sequined show dress has a lot more *pop* and is immediately "Jessica Rabbit" rather than taking a minute. If you have the time and budget, I'd say go for sequined.

So on my FB, it looks like Stella Chuu started something of a cosplay meme, where she has a picture of her cosplay and a list of all the costs involved. There's at least a dozen doing it so far. It's rather interesting, and shows that doing cosplay well often isn't cheap - in material, hours, and or both.

Also, pouring out a 40 because BelleChere's Bernina Serger machine died this past week.

Which, it's funny because everyone does red sequins, but her show dress is actually pink.

Yeah, I've seen that going around. Most of my costumes hit around the $200 mark when all is said and done. Kratos is my most expensive so far at $330 ish, and SO MANY HOURS. The back armor piece alone was around 10 hours - molding it, molding all of the spine pieces and painting it.

Yeah...*sigh*..this hobby.

Red outfit would probably be easier to implement.
Oh wait, people are already saying that.

Funny enough, I just saw a cosplayer do a version the pink dress. I think she found the fabric pre-made, but judging by the details she puts into her other costumes, who knows.

If you can find the right material(something with spandex-stretchiness), the dress pattern is simple enough. But finding the right fabric is tricky.

Finding the right fabric is half the work most of the time. Especially when you are neurotic about it.
Oh, finding the right fabric isn't an issue - it exists. Just, good stretch sequin fabric is EXPENSIVE like $20+ a yard expensive. I found one that $40 a yard and it made me cry.

Yeah, so fabric isn't an issue, I was seriously just curious which version everyone thought would look better one me. =^^=

EDIT: Also, if I were to do the plain red dress I would use stretch velvet because PRETTY. With an underlayer of silk chiffon because ALSO PRETTY. So, really it's halvsies for me on which one would be better.

I just always enjoy how @LittleKagsin make-up is always heart-breaker supermodel. whenever she gets to Jessica Rabbit our forum is going to implode under its own massive throbbing libido.
