My in-laws are decent and kind people, but I don't like being around them. They are so full of superstitious non-sense (cultural junk i.e. good energy, power gems, etc). I have very little patience for it, and thankfully my wife doesn't believe any of that crap either. But, also like CajunGal's dude, I prefer solitude over just about any company. My family has jacked up far-right views that I think are bunk as well, and I spend my time trying not to roll my eyes when they're around. My dad is the one person that I can hang out with and not get irritated by. We generally build or fix stuff when we hang out which keeps me away from the rest of them.

I can finally watch The Rockets on TV again. Comcast Houston failed and DirecTV bought the rights. So now over half the fan base has the right to watch them on TV again. Same for the Astros, but that is 5 months away.
But of course they did.
It was the dumbest business decision that I've heard of, since the last time Donald Trump did anything.

Been dating the same girl for 6 months. Yes, that may be a record.
I've sent her flowers every couple of weeks because I actually really like her, but getting flowers again at 6 months seems almost cliche at this point.
So I made a donation in her name to the Manitoba Association of Women's Shelters with a note that read that I'm really fortunate to have such a great partner, and I only wish everyone could be as lucky as I am. For those that aren't, hopefully this money will allow them the opportunity to find safety and security that will enable them to escape their circumstances and start a journey towards a better life.
