Yeah, EMH and Justice League: Unlimited did this and I thought that was cool.
A good intro is like a welcome mat or an invite, there to comfort the viewer or inform them of what is to come. A bad one can either turn off viewers or worse mislead them making them feel annoyed or confused ergo making them not want to continue watching.
The only thing I didn't like about the intro to EMH was in the second season, when they added descriptive character narration.

Archer Season 6 episode 1. Promising! A return to form, a little growth (VERY little), and PLENTY of lampshades hung on EVERYTHING.

Compared to most of Archer's self imposed exile benders 6 weeks is a major improvement.
Also all this EMH talk has made me want to watch the whole series, FUCK there is so much to love. A great rotating cast, great animation, and a kick ass over arching plot. Also I love Scott Menville as Bucky, which is hilarious because both he and Ciro Nieli worked on Teen Titans.
I'm about halfway through s2 of Arrow and have kind of lost interest. The Arrow stuff is great, but the Queen's melodrama makes me feel like they accidentally dropped some Dawson's Creek into the mix.
Well, it IS the CW.
Also, those TV superheroes don't seem to give a crap about keeping their secret identities secret.

I think the idea of the secret identity is going to fade more and more away as time goes by. We live in a world where everyone has a cellphone that can not only take decent pictures but put them online in seconds. Someone WILL find out and someone WILL post it online. It's just not feasible anymore.
It's sort of like why capes are going out of fashion too: they aren't practical for anyone who doesn't already have godly powers. They just get n the way.
I think that's why I like Flash so much, even though it's another CW show it doesn't seem to get quite as bogged down in the non-hero part of Barry's life as much as Arrow does with Oliver.
Arrow Season 1 is pretty solid, and it gets CRAZYBALLS in the end, and now the beginning of Season 2 seems like it's not letting up.

Though, what I just put in spoilers was not a surprise to anyone familiar with the DCU at all. I sometimes wonder in these shows if there isn't a bit of a disadvantage of having knowledge of the source material. You have the potential of being disappointed by interpretations of characters, and just by names alone, you can guess a lot of the "twists". For example,
I just wonder if you don't spend more time when you're familiar with the characters connecting the names to who they are in the comics than enjoying the ride as a viewer who is naive of all that would.

the Lance family. You knew where that was going from season 1, especially when they talk at the end of season one about Sarah having a pet canary. The only mystery was if it was going to be Laurel or Sarah who ends up being Black Canary, and even then, in Black Canary's first appearance, they're in separate places at the same time, so it became obvious who it was. Same with Merlyn in the first season.

Well... yes and no. Depends on who's writing him. Sometimes he's a very heroic character, and sometimes he's merely a meat suit for Etrigan.

I'm almost done with season 2 of Arrow, and I haven't found the family drama stuff overwhelming. As a matter of fact, I like it quite a bit. At first I wasn't happy about the whole Soloman Grundy thing, but I think in the end they're going to make him into a reasonable facsimile of what he is in the comics.

I actually don't mind Laurel that much. I haven't always liked her, but considering what she's been through, I can't really blame her. And I think that she's going to get stronger and more interesting as the show goes on. I just wish she hadn't said that egg whites were her "bff." That was sad.
All that said, I'm not super thrilled about how many of the women are written in these CW shows. Laurel's not awesome, but I don't hate her.

Laurel's INFINITELY more tolerable than Huntress was who was INFINITELY more tolerable than Count Vertigo.

Did anyone else watch Togetherness on HBO? It's Mark Duplass (of the League) and his brother's new series about a married couple, a recently homeless friend and the wife's aimless sister. I really liked it. Amanda Peet is fantastic as the sister.

NBC blatantly doesn't gaf about Parks, they're burning it off two episodes at a time. I don't really mind either way, since there's no ambivalence about this being the last season, and I'm pretty okay with that.
Yeah, I think Huntress showing up was where I first started fading out from Arrow. She's so goddamn bad.
