Whine like a baby, now with 500% more drama!

My cupboard was filled with moths, SO many moths. Many food packages were compromised, an oatmeal canister was more moth webs and eggs than oatmeal.

I am never getting an oatmeal can without immediately covering it with plastic ever again, just UGH![DOUBLEPOST=1425066265,1425066217][/DOUBLEPOST]
Then the question to ask now is did a moth sneak into your nose?
It didn't, that was paranoia setting as like I said- SO many moths.

I just wasted an hour of my life on the phone with a dude trying to book a flight for work. Dude was so incompetent and slow that I felt physical pain.

I started my new duties at a new position at work today, having been volunteered to transfer departments.

It's haaaaard. :aaah:

In my opinion there is no better proof that the US government hates its citizens than the DMV.

I work nights, but i have no choice but to go to the dmv today. So after getting off work and a 3 hour nap i am here sitting queued in line for the 3rd time in the last 3 hours.....

Did you make an appointment?

Cant make appointments here, but you can use the auto system from your cell phone, which i did first thing beforeit was opened and i was on my way, but by the time i got there 5 minutes after opening, i had missed my number and had to requeue for a two hour wait to be told the documents i brought were not acceptable, so i had to requeue, go get other documents, come back, finish my second over 2 hour wait .... and the nightmare.continued. whatever, its over now. I hate the dmv.

So my new book is probably delayed until April-ish. My publisher won't say for sure, but there's a reason why it's being delayed:

Since submitting the book, I've sent it again I think twice with little edits. Nothing major, just little fixes that I caught when I'd reread through it. And Tommy (the head honcho at Pro Se) said he's not angry but he felt it was a little unprofessional.

Soooooo...fuck. :(

These are growing pains. They will pass.

You'll look back at this fondly when you've finished naming yourself King of Earth, after conquering it with your army of mutated armadillo soldiers. Or when you're a more advanced author, I mean I'm not going to tell you how to live your life.

President Obama* is coming to Columbia, SC on friday to speak at one of the historically black colleges in the area. Specifically one that is less than 5 mins away from where I work. Traffic is going to be fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuun. :|

*This post is not to be construed as either support or opposition for the current PotUS. Anyone wanting to discuss politics, policies, etc.; there's a forum for that.

Neil Gaiman said it's inevitable that when an author gets the printed copy of their book, on the first page they turn to, they'll find a typo. Hell, it happened to me. I must've gone through my novel 10 times, and I was so certain everything was solid. Two years after it was published, I was cleaning up around the house and found a copy away from the bookshelf. I thought "it's been a while since I looked at this," and flipped it open on a whim. Second paragraph of that random page--word missing. Fortunately it was in dialogue and anyone else reading probably thought it was just the character's way of speaking, but I knew better.

I'm glad you're doing those re-readings, because that is being professional. It just makes more headache for them when they have to process another version, which is why he said that. Now you know for next time to do those re-readings beforehand ... and also accept that you'll find a typo when you get the finished book from the publisher :p.

It was mostly silly little things, like misspelling China as Chin. :p

Went to work feeling fine, headache started, stomach unsettled, felt like crap when lunch came around. Went home, passed out in bed, woke up about 3, examined the contents of my stomach, passed out in bed again, woke up about 30 minutes ago, and probably going back to bed shortly. I've been able to eat a popcicle, yeah me!

If you're passing out, you should be in a HOSPITAL bed.

It's just my body's way of dealing with illness. I manage it, and have for years, when I'm sick. I can stay conscious, but as soon as I let myself stop (in bed) I'm out, and will be a couple of hours before you can possibly wake me up.

I have two...

1 - I have a massive hive on my leg that is so huge I can see it through my pants. It's itchy and evil.

2 - I took a gorgeous portrait of my daughter (I need proper back drops and a flash for it to be better but with what I have I think its good) and Facebook is being a $%&! and I can't upload it.

*sigh* I want to find another job. Where I'm at now, there's no consistent hours and it's mind-numbing customer service. If I worked a full year there, I'd probably be lucky if I hit even $20,000 in a year. Hell, my most recent tax return had me at $12,000 since April.

And I just...fucking hell, I just don't know what to do. I don't want to apply to other customer service jobs because it'll just be the same shit only a different store with a different cash register and the same inconsistent hours.

Worse, I don't even know what else I could apply for even if I wanted to get out of customer service. I don't really have any skills for anywhere.

I've considered going back to school, but I don't even know what the fuck to take. I've looked through programs at the local community college, clicked on a few offered programs, but nothing jumps out a me that says, "This! You should try doing this!"

I'm tired of working shit, minimum wage jobs but I'm just completely stuck because I've wasted my life perusing stupid goals like fucking wrestling school or just wasting it in general doing nothing or playing games or reading comics.

I don't know if you've considered this but programming is a field I'm sure your community college offers classes in, and can be pretty fun if you're into problem solving.

Do you have your associates yet? If not, just go to the community college to get THAT much... do a few core classes each semester and just pick anything that sounds interesting for your extra credits. I may be going to school to be a psychologist, but even if I wasn't, I've found a bunch of things that I find interesting.

Associates? I don't even know what that is. I have a Bachelor degree in Arts (English). That's it.

You're already past associates then. An associates degree is a 2 year community/junior college degree.

It's like majoring in TV/VCR repair.[DOUBLEPOST=1425766872,1425766749][/DOUBLEPOST]
