[Movies] The DC Cinematic Universe - The David Zazlav Dumpster Fire.

I honestly don't remember. I vaguely recall liking the design at the time.

Anyway, I had good faith on Superman's Man of Steel design. And I got burned there. But this is giving me more Green Lantern vibes.
Well, to be fair, the design and look of Superman in Man of Steel was pretty great. I mean, the suit looked damn good. It was everything else that was shit.

Another released pic for Suicide Squad, this one showing Smith's Deadshot with the mask and...monocle? Eye visor? Whatever you call it. Anyway, it actually looks pretty good, I think.

Though you what scares me? That some idiots will raise a stink that they're putting a WHITE mask on a BLACK actor.

Man, I've been a fan of Jai Courtney ever since he was in Spartacus, and I've been rooting for him to finally be in a good movie... and it looks like I'll be waiting some more, because this probably won't be it.

What did they do to Enchantress? It looks like she just got done with two hours of mud wrestling before the shoot. Either that or she's literally a zombie.

Captain Boomerang looks as rad as that character could EVER possibly look onscreen.

It's still so weird, they're only one movie into the DC CINEMATIC UNIVERSEESS and a villain has a movie before Wonder Woman.

Ehh, the outfit's kinda cool. The coat is great, but the color scheme looks really drab, and I think the actor is miscast - Captain Boomerang is not supposed to be a stocky brute. Athletic, yes, but not quite so meaty.

There's something I noticed with Harley Quinn. It looks like she has tattoos on her legs. Honestly, the idea of the tattoos works better for Harley than for Joker, especially considering they're upside-down and look like they were done with sharpie or pen. It looks like she drew them herself.

I didn't see if anyone mentioned it, but word of god on Leto's Joker is that the "tattoos" were only part of the promo shot. They're not in the actual finished product.

I still stand on record as always feeling ambivalent about Ledger's Joker. I also didn't feel like he represented the Joker. I understand as a huge comic book nerd that the Joker has gone through many interpretations, but that's just it. Ledger's Joker had no real distinctive features or personality. He just read like a generic movie psychopath, and where's the fun in that. As someone else said, he did that role very well, but there was nothing uniquely Joker about it.

I mean, saying a character is something just because you call it something is probably technically true. I guess any old rich kid from Verona could be Romeo, forget any plot actions or personality cues from the play. It's Romeo if you say it is, right? Technically, I guess. But that still extremely unsatisfying, and fans of the original play have plenty of justification to complain about it.

"We assure everyone complaining about this shot that it's just for the promo shot, he actually looks much different in the actual movie."

...

"Quick, call editing, we're going to have to digitally remove those tattoos from every shot."

Looks like they put the Vegeta meter on the wrong eye. Wouldn't the point of a HUD be to put it over the eye that is getting the best picture of the target.

Someone snagged some closeup footage of filming for a Joker/Harley scene. No idea how long this'll stay up.

Not much you can hear, but you get a good indicator of Leto's mannerisms and it looks like the tattoos aren't in the actual movie.

I hope whoever filmed that isn't part of the crew or their ass will be on the street soon. They'd know who was where during the shooting.

Glad that the tattoos aren't in there (though it'll always be a mystery if that was a last minute change). It's funny seeing raw footage like this, because it's up to you to imagine how it'll look in the final film. Clearly this conversation is pretty much centered on just their upper halves except when interacting with the car. Also Harley isn't totally batshit here, so I'm wondering if she's going to be getting some origin story here. They won't have room to give origins to all those characters, but they're probably going to pick someone as a sort of protagonist i.e. Starlord in Guardians of the Galaxy.

Deadshot is probably the primary protagonist, Will Smith doesn't play second fiddle to anyone (unless it's his son). Seriously, he refused Django Unchained because the lead role wasn't lead enough for him.

Oh right, I totally forgot that. Yeah, it'll definitely be him.

Makes me think of David Copperfield the way he keeps moving his hands.

There's something about Leto's body language that reminds me of Hamil's Joker. That's not a bad thing.

This is also the first time he's taken a villain role because he saw villain roles as beneath him. I wonder what happened?

I'm betting their writing the Suicide Squad as more anit-heroes than villains. Or Deadshot, at least. Or maybe the Church of Scientology told him he'd better get back to being a cash cow, or else.

"You WILL start playing villains and you WILL start playing second fiddle or we take away your third mansion!"

I can hear a shutter servo going nuts, so I'm guessing paparazzi or bystander.
