OH right. *facepalm*Pretty sure we were referring to the end of extensions for Mickey Mouse's exclusivity.

He's got the chops for it... Spy Kids 1 was fantastic and so was the first sequel... it wasn't until he suddenly let his fucking kid write a movie (Spy Kids 3) that it went to shit. I'd watch a JQ movie made by him.Robert Rodriguez is the latest director attached to make a live-action Jonny Quest film.

The comments on that article are heavily supporting the 2003 movie.Looks like Fox is taking another crack at The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.

Well, hell, they did that with Star Trek: Nemesis, too.[DOUBLEPOST=1432752032,1432751548][/DOUBLEPOST]I'm still kind of amazed that they actually paid to make a movie based on fan fiction and didn't even make use of the parts that weren't public domain.
It also mentions that it "began Moore's dislike of hollywood adaptations of his work"... despite it already existing prior to From Hell in 2001. Not exactly a great article. The comments on that article are heavily supporting the 2003 movie.
I think the better question is "Why?" The comic had a modest following, and the movie didn't make any waves. Aside from not wanting to lose the film rights, there's no need to make another LXG movie.Looks like Fox is taking another crack at The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.

That may be because of how fast and loose it played the source material.the movie didn't make any waves.
By which you mean "used the character names".That may be because of how fast and loose it played the source material.

They announced that like a year or two ago, I seem to recall.Since when is there going to be an Independence Day 2? I did not hear of this. I mean, I heard of it, back when the original came out, but then nothing until today. And it's not like it just got greenlit or something; they're on set, in the production phase. What the hell?
That means Jeff Goldblum had time to pick between Independence Day 2 or Jurassic World and chose the wrong project. They announced that like a year or two ago, I seem to recall.
Yeah I mean this new guy seems pretty funny, but this show was basically Jon's life for the whole run he was on it. They're some big shoes to fill.I'm starting to wonder if Larry Wilmore was offered the Daily Show, said no, and they gave him the Nightly Show so he could focus on doing what he wanted instead of upholding a legacy. Nothing wrong with that, but if this new guy can't show that he's just as passionate and dedicated as John is, the Daily Show really should just fade away.
Larry Wilmore sucks, and I'm glad he's not taking over.I'm starting to wonder if Larry Wilmore was offered the Daily Show, said no, and they gave him the Nightly Show so he could focus on doing what he wanted instead of upholding a legacy. I am almost certain that the format and rather relaxed delivery of the Nightly Show is directly inspired by the kind of minority focused programming you used to see get play on the big networks in the early AM during the 80's and 90's... which makes his show a stealth pun about the quality of such of focused programming on television today. That's Colbert-level writing and dedication, even if he's not playing a caricature like Steven Colbert was.Larry Wilmore sucks, and I'm glad he's not taking over.
Nice. I really need to read that sometime. Heard nothing but great things.BOOM! Studios' smash hit comics title, Lumberjanes, is headed for the big screen.

I've really enjoyed it. I'm a couple issues behind right now, but so far it's been a great new series.Nice. I really need to read that sometime. Heard nothing but great things.
No no no no no no no, why why WHY?! WHAT IS THE POINT?!Well, like ol' Jack Burton says, "STOP REMAKING MOVIES YOU HACKS."
I'm okay with this ONLY if they can get James Hong to reprise his role.Well, like ol' Jack Burton says, "STOP REMAKING MOVIES YOU HACKS."
I hope they realize that he only thought he was the hero in the original.Well, like ol' Jack Burton says, "STOP REMAKING MOVIES YOU HACKS."
