[Movies] The Upcoming Movies Trailer Thread

No, I can sympathize with him. I experienced something similar with Finding Nemo when it came out. It's like everyone wanted to watch it, not even consider other options. All the constant watching left a bad taste in my mouth and I still haven't revisited the film since.

As for The Iron Giant? Great film, and I'll try to make sure I see it when it's re-released in theaters.
When my son was a little less than two, we watched Finding Nemo over and over and over. Every time, I noticed something new. I think that film is brilliant.

So, I haven't seen it since it was in theaters (and I was 7) so maybe you people that watch it a lot can explain this to me:

Did they ever explain where the Giant came from? The cold war thing completely went over my head so I assumed it was just aliens.

That started looking like Christmas Vacation and then..turned.
More like A Christmas Story for me.
+10 if there's a scene where Krampus stares down the barrel of a rifle pointed at him and quips, "Be careful with that, you'll put your eye out."

I said Christmas Vacation because it wasn't just the one family, but was instead a mixing of families for comedic effect. But I get what you mean.

A Christmas-themed horror movie from the same writer/director as Trick 'R Treat? With some not-so-subtle nods to Gremlins, one of my favourite movies?

YES. ALL OF THIS, YES. RIGHT NOW. IN MY FACE. GIVE IT TO ME. *motorboats it*

It's one of those movies that you know basically what's going to happen but you want to watch it anyway.

I am really glad the Krampus got himself back into pop-culture in the past few years. Black Pete though he...he'll need some rebooting.
Depends. Are we talking about the Black Peter who has a blackface look and Renaissance clothing, or the Black Peter that's basically a human version of Krampus?

Both I'd say, unless they give them a "Bebop and Rocksteady" relationship.
Potentially. I ask because they have their different roles. The Black Peter who has the blackface imagery (who I'll call Zwarte Piet, to help differentiate between the two) basically serves to amuse children and give candy as part of a welcoming crew for Santa. The other Black Peter (who I'll call Pierre Noir) fills the same role as Krampus, being the scary figure who disciplines children by hitting them with birch branches, chains, and whips.

Friendly Black Peter just needs a name change(and to stop with promoting black face) but I think the villainous version may need to remain obscure as he's generally redundant when he have Krampus. Unless like I said, they go Bebop and Rocksteady.

Sounds about right. Zwarte Piet could be kept easily, just without the blackface and with a name change. Honestly, he'd be a good counterpoint to Krampus. Krampus is the main assistant who doles out the punishment while Zwarte Piet is the main assistant who helps to build up the cheer and hype for Santa's arrival.

And we call it "Nick, Pete, and the Krampus" three whacky magical beings wanting to make the world a better place- coming weekdays this December. I'd watch it.

...You know what? I kind of want to see that.

Pete is eternally cheerful, all smiles and maybe a bit hopped up on sugar as he helps to spread Christmas cheer.
Krampus is dark and on edge, frustrated and ready with a whip or chain to punish the naughty.
Nick is in the middle of the two, a bit tired of their clashes but in need of their skills to help keep Christmas going.

New Creed trailer.

In the "I feel old" department: Sylvester Stallone is now the same age Burgess Meredith was when Rocky was filmed.

Confession: I've never seen the Jungle Book.

But y'know, this new trailer makes me want to watch the new live action version.
