[Movies] The DC Cinematic Universe - The David Zazlav Dumpster Fire.

My problem is that Leto's Joker basically looks like if Macklemore and Marilyn Manson had a kid.
Maybe more like what you'd get if Hamill's Joker and Harley had a kid.
Like he's trying to continue daddy's image but not really feelin' it.

Wasn't this the plot of one of the DC Animation movies a while back? Batman: Red Hood, I think?
Pretty much. It was based on a storyline for the comics called "Under the Red Hood". Sounds like they'll be pulling from that same story, along with some touches from "A Death in the Family".

Details have started to emerge about the next Batman film. Apparently, the plan may be that it will be centered around the Red Hood operating in the shadows and framing Batman for his crimes. The Joker and Nightwing will both be in it.
This is why my love of DC has plummeted lately. "Hey, we have a huge library of some of the most iconic characters to ever be in comics! You know what we should make? Another Batman movie!"

.....

STOP MAKING F***ING BATMAN MOVIES ALREADY!!!!

We know! We get it! The world knows Batman! How about hiring some real writers (not David F***ing Ayers) and make people care about someone OTHER than Batman? Give Batman a damn rest, already! :rage:

I'd kill for a great Shazam movie. So long as they aim for a kids audience, because they could make butt-loads of money marketing him to kids.

And I heard the kids these days are really into this "Drake" guy, so how about he get him to be Shazam so he can do a rap song for us too?

Sure, but we'll have to team him up with Batman or have him fight The Joker in some way.
To be fair, one of the best stories about Shazam (First Thunder) involved him teaming up with Superman. It would be a winner to see.

We'll have to see how the movie turns out... I think the only guy they have a hard cast on right now is Dwayne Johnson as Black Adam.

Without first establishing Jason Todd.

It's like Captain America 2 would've been better if Bucky hadn't been present in the first film.
So much this. After seeing Winter Soldier, when you go back and watch First Avenger, the relationship between Steve and Bucky takes on a whole new light, you start seeing some of the details and expressions. You really understand why it's so heartbreaking that Bucky becomes this weapon for HYDRA.

Because Jason Todd Robin was a unlikeable little shit. The character is only around now because of the Eulogy effect.
Even Denny O'Neil did not like Jason Todd. And even as editor he admitted that he did not understand how Jason became so unlikable. And it was a real cheap trick to bring him back. But, at least they waited 20ish years to do so.

I'd watch the hell out of a Plastic Man movie.
Except that by the time Time-Warner let it out, Plastic Man would be some kind of grim-dark vigilante that lost his parents to a criminal, and now dresses as a creature of the night to frighten and intimidate the the criminal element all while speaking in a raspy whisper.

So...The Mask?

(Actually, I think a Plastic Man movie done sorta in the style of The Mask would be pretty good)

(...for that matter, so would an Ambush Bug movie)

That would be kind of poetic symmetry, The Mask toned down for the movies, and Plastic Man made more gritty.

I don't think most people know how dark and violent The Mask comic was.

Yeah, the Mask was one of the rare cases where I liked the movie version better than the comic version.

Teaser trailer.

I'm REALLY not a fan of how Superman's depicted in this scene, it's basically straight out of Injustice. But apparently it's a dream sequence for Batman, so...

I dunno who that's supposed to appeal to.

I didn't even hate Man of Steel that much and that teaser elicits nothing from me.

I'm cautiously excited for the Shazam movie because Dwayne Johnson is Black Adam! And given that casting, I hope it's made as a fun superhero movie you can take kids to.

But, of course, this is WB/DC. So they'll probably suck all the joy and fun out of the Marvels and fill them with DARKNESS AND ANGST. :(

(Though even if the movie sucks, I'm still getting my Dwayne Johnson as Black Adam action figure! :D )
