[Movies] The DC Cinematic Universe - The David Zazlav Dumpster Fire.

That, or just to make the movie seem more exciting in the trailers.
Bingo. That is likely the biggest reason for how much effort they put into it. Also...
I am pretty sure that scene is going to be the start of the movie. It's likely after the opening splash credits, it will zoom in on Batman overlooking the destroyed landscape with alien ships looming (the image linked recently). He goes down and meets with what is left of free humanity, getting ready for the coming invasion of Superman, his Super-Soldiers and alien allies (the bug guys). A big battle commences and Batman is the last one standing, with the Super-Soldiers swarming him and taking him down. They drag him downstairs, hang him up by his hands, and then that scene will happen where Superman shows up, the soldiers all bow to him, he takes off Batmans mask, looks at him, then is about to incinerate him with his eye beam, then Bruce will wake up in a cold sweat. It's supposed to set the tone of why Batman fears / hates Superman throughout the rest of the movie by showing us what he believes will happen.

What, you guys DON'T want to see Batman v. Flying Batman: Dust and Grimace? :awesome:

* * *

You know, forget Marvel for a second; I think Fury Road is also was irks me about BVSDoJ. Fury Road managed to be grim and gritty and dystopic without making their entire color spectrum 3 shades of brown all the time. You could learn a lot from George Miller, Snyder.

For all the shit I give Superman v Batman, I'm still going to see it when it comes out on video. I actually really enjoyed Man of Steel, and thought it was a good movie, just that it was a terrible Superman movie. So I view it, and this, as elseworlds movies.

So how much more shit can they pack into this 5 lb bag? We've got Lex Luthor, Cave Troll Zombie Zod, Robotvoice vs Spitcurl, 3/4 scale Wonder Woman, and possibly Water Conan. And now Thanos 2: Electric Boogaloo.

I hope they find a way to incorporate Sportsmaster and Ding Dong Daddy, personally.

Fuck you haters! Supergirl is wicked good. It's got lots of colour and happiness and romance, Kara is just straight up adorable, and her sister, like wicked hot. And Martian Manhunter is so spot on!

Yep, but that's TV. DC Comics seems to be getting better results with their TV projects lately rather than their movies.

Fun fact, Young Justice S2 finally showed up on Netflix!

It's great and you will be upset that it ends, unlike every time you watch a trailer for BvS.

Yeah, that really is the best trailer they've released.

...Too bad they've released 20 crappy trailers/teasers before it and lessened its impact. I think at this point, if you cut all the footage from the trailers together, you could watch 2/3 of the movie.

You know, I rewatched Man of Steel with my 13 year old daughter last weekend, and I came away with a couple of things. First, when I asked her what she thought about all the destruction that had occurred, she pointed out that it wasn't really Superman's fault, because he was reacting to what the others were doing, and he wasn't really a superhero yet. Same with the big finish. Second, on rewatching it's really not as bad and grimdark as everyone seems to think it is, especially when compared to the Batman movies of late.

That said, I just saw Batman kicking ridiculous ass, Wonder Woman jumping into battle like a boss, and the first real indication that Supes might be in over his head. Way, way more fun looking that anything else they've given us.

Yeah, I honestly enjoyed that fight snippet at the start with the warehouse thugs.
Yeah, when the trailer started with that, my first thought was "Now that is a Batman fight."

That was overall a solid trailer and does look like it could be for a fun movie. But I'm not convinced this isn't them dressing up the other shit, or that it won't still be a mess. It is unfortunate they didn't start off with that trailer, but keep in mind the shitty dialogue and stupid Doomsday crap we've seen in the other trailers. All these pieces are the movie, not just this one trailer.

Was that Diana flirting with Bruce in the trailer? I thought for sure that, with all the other heaped on bullshit, that they'd have tossed in a Clark/Lois/Superman/WW/Diana love pentagle.
