In Chinese cultures, there's often a corporate year-end banquet near the end of the Chinese year. Chinese new year is coming up, so our company had our banquet last night. I was part of the staff (in fact, I was hosting), and we all dressed up for the event.

I look pretty much like my avatar, so instead, here's a picture of a scabbard I'm working on for my antique yataghan!
It's must first time making anything like this, but it fits well, is felt-lined, and the sword is drawn smoothly.
Then I stained it ebony and coated in polyurethane.
Now I'm working on how to best add some brass decorations. It's a beautiful blade, and the only reason I could afford it was because it didn't come with a traditional sheath! *pets sword*

Judging by the look he's giving, I'd say he just learned someone can't wait to be king, and he doesn't need advice from little hornbills, for a start.
Was out shopping with my wife when we saw this. I was gonna sneak back later and get it for Valentine's day, but it was the last one they had. So she got it early.
