I had to get up at 5:30 and stand in the cold. I volunteer for graduation and I work parking lot detail.

Starting late Monday, Omaha is going to get buried under 8 - 16 inches of snow, depending on the model used. So I can almost guarantee that I'll have Tuesday off and will be able to play lots of...wait...TUESDAY?!? The day the game will be offline? NOOOOO!

I've had every Tuesday off for > 8 years (certainly since the 5/2012 launch). I feel your pain.
Switched to Wednesdays (going forward) last month. We'll see.

She just barely cleared a Greater Rift level 10....it was a nail biter...so lame lol.
Ah, I thought you said you were > 70 already in HC.
I'll get there soon enough. Maintenance doesn't start until 10a local time, should be able to squeeze in at least a couple hours after we get the kid off to school.

My goal is to copy my not hardcore pet build. That will make her pretty tanky so I can work on some of the hardcore achievements I've ignored for years.

My WD is now level....errr, 55 or 56. Anyway, I do like playing him, but I recall why I never really got all that far with WDs before. Compared to the Necromancer, he's less versatile as a summoner. With only 6 active skills at a time, losing two to summons (garg and dogs) and one to mobility (jaunt), having to keep at least one skill a "basic" at least for the time being (resource management might help that later on), you're left with just two active skills. Which I both want to use for different damage types (single target and AOE), but that leaves you with no crowd control fun times at all.
Compared to the Wizard, I'm constantly "missing" one or two types of skill I'd have like to have used in this or that situation. At least the drops are somewhat better now compared to my last WD (which was pre-expansion, with the auction house and crappy unbalanced drops). Though RNG still hates me, my Leoric's Crown had +skill for wizard :p

Yay got to HC61 and finished all the Act II bounties mere seconds before the server shutdown this morning.
Maintenance is over and I can log in now BUT keep getting error 395002 "Can't Load Hero" or login just hangs on "Retrieving Hero List..." endlessly I'm not made of time rrrRrRrRRrrRrgggghhhh.

My WD cleared a 70 with no primary skill. Summons, jaunt, cc and a spender that also freezes/ccs.

No fetishes :). My gargs and my dogs.
Taking in mind I'm going solo, haven't reached the level cap and am, thus, playing quite untwinked, I'm just having trouble killing fast enough with Garg and Dogs (mostly) alone. No problems on Hard, but since switching to Master (Expert? The 4th difficulty, anyway, the third one's not worth it), it's been relatively slow going. Obviously that'll get better, but man there are few WD pet builds that don't rely on unique gear. Any tips for leveling?

I've been running Leeching Dogs, the soul harvest that heals, Jaunt, Piranhas, Acid Cloud with Acid Rain, and the Spirit Barrage that hits more than one target. Using Rush of Essence, you can basically sit in one place and melt down entire hordes of enemies on Master Diff by using your Spirit Barrage to sustain mana while you drop acid and fish as needed. Just look for +Poison, +Fire, or plus Acid Cloud or Spirit Barrage. Ideally you're going to want fast hitting weapons and +life per hit/kill to help sustain to take full advantage of Rush of Essence and your kills, but this build will get you through Master to 70 as long as you are quick with Jaunt.

Obviously, feel free to switch out stuff. For instance, Piranhas for Grasp of Dead or Gargantuan if you want more CC or another pet. Haunt is another good choice.

The pet build is super gear dependant and the reason I think it works so well is that my pet doc's sheet dps is around 2,300,000 now.

There are multiple items needed to make it work such as:

Short man's finger
Tasker and Theo
Mask of Jeram
Hellfire Amulet (having pierce the veil is a nice bonus here)
Henri's Perquisiton
Sacred Harvester
And of course the Helltooth set

My tips for levelling would be a power level if you can get one. Otherwise, bounties and rifts. Having a full group helps immensely if you're not getting a power level.

I thought getting gems to 50 was going to be rough, but it turns out it isn't nearly that bad. Sadly, it also means I have to skip trash mobs as much as possible or I barely finish a level 56 Rift.

I am running through my cash much faster now empowering my rifts though.

@PatrThom I am SO sorry. My laptop battery died. It had come unplugged earlier today and I hadn't noticed. The timing sucked but way better than had it happened while we were in that rift.

For leveling purposes, it's actually faster to be on hard, because the kill speed and bonus from kill streaks is greater than the bonus xp from higher diffs.

I've heard that Hard is best for leveling, but once you hit 70 it's probably best to switch over to T1 as soon as possible to take advantage of the chance for Torment-only items to be able to drop (and then upgrade to T2 when you can to take advantage of the increased drop rates for same).

So, to my great surprise, I'm loving Hard Core mode. Who knew?

I haven't really played it before, so if I die, the character is gone.

Is the gear she's wearing gone?

Are her paragon levels gone?

Is her bank gone?

What's fun is that certain items that I would never have used before are now fantastic such as the Aquila Cuirass I just got. I will never be below full mana with a dart build and with it my toughness is up to 24M :)
