Would it really have been so hard to get a classic Peacemaker? Or is he trying to pull away from his brother's (completely fake) cowboy persona?

It doesn't have to be a revolver. Colt doesn't just make the 1911, they've got a selection of automatic pistols. For that matter, so does Smith & Wesson. Heck, even a Ruger might have been a better choice.

True, but when I think "pandering to gun owners", I usually think classic stuff like revolvers or hunting shotguns. When you start waving around modern pistols and rifles, you push moderates away.

Moderates are even more inconsequential right now than usual. Everybody's courting the 40% that are conservatives, not the 20% who windsock, because the last couple elections were decided by the base staying home. He probably did want to avoid the inevitable "look, another Bush thinks he's a cowboy" ridicule.

Well it's working. He looks and acts like a complete dork 90% of the time. GWB was silly at times, but he at least had swagger when he needed. Jeb just sort of looks like he teaches middle school algebra.

Nope. My middle school algebra teacher was actually cool. And he was married to one of the hottest teachers in the entire school.

My middle school algebra teacher actually was one of the hottest teachers at the school. Can't remember her name, but I can remember the feelings she caused in thirteen-year-old me.

My high school religion teacher was a stone cold fox. She was maybe in her mid-20s.

Holy. Christ. They figured out how to get us to avoid skipping Religion 10.

Holy shit, I just looked up my old high school. She still teaches there and 20 years since I was in her classroom, she's still pretty effin' attractive.

Most of our guns are exported to Saudi Arabia, Nepal and Pakistan right now. All things considered, I really would prefer the gun to be held by a Bush over those countries. So, sure, buy more Belgian guns!
(though, technically, those guns are made in the other region, and I'm in favor of secession, and them selling guns to that lot is one of the many reasons. But hey)
