Today is a perfectly fine and nice day at work, weather aside.

But I can't stop thinking about how much I'd rather be at home working on HFA models.

I was home with a sick kid today and my boss was a super bitch. So nasty. I will go in tonight to fix her "urgent" situations that are not my fault.

My brother came through town today, so he, my grandfather, and I all went to lunch together. I haven't seen my brother in something like 10 years.

Never have I felt so old as when I beheld my baby brother's massively receding hairline. My stepfather's genes are strong, apparently.

I use 500px as a way to share photos with people not on Facebook and also to try and sell the occasional print. Any time that I try to be creative or artistic, it seems to backfire.

Last night, I posted a picture on an infrared rose that I made look black. I spent ages editing it and I love it. It got a handful of likes overnight :( I posted the colour version that I spent less than five minutes editing and I posted it just now. It reached popular status within a few minutes.

I don't get it.

I get this with Fade a lot. Work 40 hours penciling a page? Nothing. Ten minutes? Accolades and cheers.

Consider the restaurants in your area. Think of the one that serves the absolute best meal, the highest quality ingredients the most expertly prepared and most pleasingly presented.

Now realize McDonald's outsells them by many orders of magnitude.

I, too experience this in my hobbies. My lowest quality youtube videos are the ones that get all the views and likes. The ones I made when I was just starting out and had a crappy mic and edited almost nothing out of videos that were sometimes excruciatingly long. By around 5 to 1.

This is also why MST3K is so popular. It's that cheese factor.

I am now on my new computer at work. Everything works beautifully. I'll bet you won't hear me whine about translation software ever again.

But my MUD client was on my old computer, and it's a client that only works right on Windows XP. Now I'll have to find a new MUD client if I want to slack off at work with some old-school MMO action. :(

Compatibility mode?

Free VMWare player with XP installed. That's what I do with all my old XP games that I like to run. With a new, faster computer, it should probably still be faster than your old xp machine, even virtualized.

I have to go to work after doing a ton of overtime this weekend. I'm wrecked and I'll have to deal with senior management thinking they know stuff when they don't etc etc while I'm this exhausted.

Tried it, only limited success. It'll run, but it won't save any of my triggers or aliases. And, really, if I can't use triggers or aliases, then there's no point in using a client at all, I might as well use Telnet.
Do it in a VM?

I have the day off today. I'd love to play Diablo or sleep in, but noooo I have to finally go and take care of the stuff I missed doing alongside the Halforums meet-up, which means today will be another day like every other this past week...up at 7:30 and don't get back home until 9p so again there will be no time for things *I* want to do unless I want to stay up until 3 again.

I took the afternoon off. I pushed all the rush projects as far as I could and now I am home with my bad leg up, a hoodie and ugly roots bum pants on, all my cats and a nasty pizza sub.
