But...but...Batman has used guns in the comics, too! He used guns at the beginning of his comics career! That makes it totally okay, right? Even though there is a much longer history of him NOT using guns. But since it's happened a few times in the comics, that makes it totally okay!

They tried to stuff The Dark Knight Returns and the Death of Superman into one movie that was also their origin meeting, throwing in other heroes for good measure just because.

It's also assault with a deadly weapon if they survive, as well as possession of illegal weapon and unlicensed use of explosives if he's firing missiles. Basically, Batman should be doing 25-to-life every time he pulls the trigger.
