[TV] Talk about the last TV you watched, the catchall thread

I finished Friends, watching it on Netflix for the first time. The last 2-3 seasons mostly sucked with some standout episodes, but I guess I'm glad I watched all 235 episodes.

Also The People v. OJ Simpson is amazing. The Americans is having a great season too.

Supergirl and Crazy Ex Girlfriend are having standout seasons as well. Amazingly, the latter is the only one renewed.

Just glancing through this, you momentarily had me thinking that someone had made a series from My Super Ex-Girlfriend...AND then renewed it, which was making me really question the entertainment industry.

It does. It's not the fastest show, but it gets better.
Yeah I mean I get in the end it's a crime show with the sci-fi/horror bits dashed on top, but everyone's so flat and boring 99% of the time. They speak in long, monotonous tones so often I start hearing a soft buzz instead of dialogue.

Wrestlemania

Goddamn that was a good show (is, it's still going as I type this)

It's been forever since I watched Wrestling. I only recently got back into it, and this year's Wrestlemania has been spectacular.

Please tell me X-Files gets better after season 1 because at the pace these episodes are going I could fall asleep to it.
Basically the X-Files seasons 2 through 6 are excellent, 7 is fine, and don't watch 8 or 9. 10 has a couple good episodes.

I can, and am willing to, write you a guide on How to Watch the X-Files. I've seen every episode many times. Also, I can't recommend enough the X-Files Files, a podcast by Kumail Nanjiani in which he reviews episodes of the X-Files.

Yeah I'd heard that 8-9 are pretty awful, I had planned to just take it to 7 and be done.

No worries, though appreciated, on the guide. I can wade through the last of season 1 and take it from there, I'm just about done with it now.

I started watching Supernatural. Only a few episodes into season 1, but so far I'm liking it. Seems kinda... halfway between Grimm and Jericho.

The first 5 seasons are great and I highly recommend them. After that, the original arc that the first show runner wrote is over and someone else took over production. The seasons after 5 are a bit more uneven, but I still say I enjoy the show when I get a chance to binge on it and that's hard to say for a show that has... what, 8 seasons? That's better than Buffy did so it must be doing something right.

It's up to 10 on Netflix and I think season 11 just finished on the CW.

Ten, on Netflix anyway.

My personal recommendation guide for Supernatural is as follows:
  • 1: Enjoy Seasons 1-5, for they are beautiful.
  • 2: Skip Season 6 (except for episode 15, for it is life and love).
  • 3: Watch Season 7, for it is campy and sort of enjoyable (I think of it as a fanfic).
  • 4: Forget this show existed until it's time to GoTo 1.

Yeah, I don't see how I'd make it through all 10 seasons even if it was good. I liked Burn Notice but ran out of gas there well before season 6.

Just watched the season finale of Sleepy Hollow, and I can't believe they...
killed off Abby. That was a season finale written to be a series finale if there ever was such a thing. The secret government agency commissioned by Washington won't live up to what came before.

If it does get renewed, and the buzz is it might, they must make the joke that
Washington basically created the Witness Protection Agency.

He's talking about Sleepy Hollow. Aren't you, Charlie? ;)

Yeah.

Scandal didn't exactly kill off a woman of color, but it might have done even worse. And I heard some fan backlash about another couple shows I don't follow - Underground and there was another one I can't remember for the life of me.

I'm on episode 10 now, I can't stop.

FUCKING PUPPET GRANDMA OUT OF NOWHERE HOLY SHIT IT ACTUALLY SCARED ME
Someday I will be a millionaire, and I will buy that puppet, and put it behind one of those fancy museum glass boxes. Also a museum for TV props, so it doesn't look too conspicuous.

Late in season 3 of Supernatural. "Hey! That's John Bly! I guess the orb DID grant him immortality, but at what cost?!"

I finished season 5 of Supernatural. So the consensus is skip season 6? I tried watching the Supernatural anime, didn't even finish the first episode. Couldn't get past Dean's new voice.
