[Movies] The DC Cinematic Universe - The David Zazlav Dumpster Fire.

Wow, those two adjectives almost perfectly describe Zack Snyder.
Maybe they should've stuck with Darren Aronofsky to direct Man of Steel. The only reason Snyder got the job is because Aronofsky didn't want to start filming with an unfinished script, but Snyder was totally willing to do so.

I just still can't believe they got the guy behind 300 and Sucker Punch to do Superman. Watchman sort of made sense since it was a cynical, grim satire of super-heroes, so the aesthetic sort of worked, but getting him to handle DC heroes like Superman? Might as well get Wes Anderson to do the X-Men.

Wait... I might actually watch that... :(

I saw the movie and it was ok right until the part where there was an earthquake and we had to evacuate the theater.:)

I hadn't heard about WB trying to make Green Lantern happen again after the shit movie, but Green Lantern Corps is on their future movie slate (for now, WB is so fickle) and will focus on three Lanterns instead of one.

I wonder which ones they'll try. I get the feeling they'll shy away from Hal to distance from the first round, but he's the most iconic.

They should focus on 5 Lanterns.
And then in the climactic scene where they have to combine all 5 of their rings, they should make some sort of Captain Planet reference.
I could see it happen.

DC doesn't do jokes. So they'd put Snyder in charge so that he could "have a little fun" with the characters and they'd all be dead in the opening scene and then we'd have mopey GLs all over the place.
I dunno at this point, they just dropped all those millions to make more jokes in Suicide Squad.

True, but if it does better than BvS who knows how it could affect things down the line.
With what WB/DC seem to think, just my speculation of course, you can do that with "other" characters, but the Big 5 (Bats, WW, Supes, GL, Flash) they have to be serious because they are the base of the universe that Snyder has started.

I honestly do believe that they won't change course on the JL movie-verse because that isn't what has be established with MoS and BvS.

Yeah that definitely makes the most sense, I'm really just speculating.

WB will do whatever they think people want them to do. The moment Deadpool the R-rated Movie did well, they announced an R-rated version of Batman vs Superman to be released on Blu-ray. They're ready to change their entire strategy per movie release. I wouldn't place bets on anything they do at this point.

That's not changing their strategy, that's doubling down on what they already did. We did grim and gritty, and people complained, so as a special release on the Blu-Ray we're doing grimmer and grittier.

People hadn't complained yet; this was decided before BvS even came out. It was announced just after Deadpool's release.

They changed the BvS script to acknowledge the criticism of destruction in Man of Steel. They changed the BvS script because test audiences didn't like Eisenberg, so now his Luthor is actually Lex Jr.

They have no idea what they're doing and hope we'll yell at them enough to guide them. Seems to be working with Suicide Squad. Maybe we can get a good Wonder Woman movie after all, so long the internet keeps a rolled-up newspaper ready to swat WB before it shits out another BvS.

"I have a buddy who tried getting me into "normal" comics books, but I was all like, "No one is having sex or killing each other. This isn't doing it for me."

Your guiding light for DC superhero movies, folks!

The BvS defense logic:

If you're a DC fan, then Batman vs Superman is not for DC fans.

If you're not a DC fan, then Batman vs Superman just for DC fans.
