[TV] Winter HAS COME! - A Game of Thrones

 They broke the boob rule!

GoT Boob Rule: importance of scene = # characters / number of boobs

Miss Fan-service turned into Miss Fan-disservice.

By the way, I made a Game of Thrones feast for tonight. Pork pie, buttered carrots, white beans and bacon, and crusty bread accompanied by mead I'd been saving since Ren Fest. Applecakes for dessert. All were made from scratch.

You described your feast in less than two full pages? GET OUT.

I went the simple route myself; store bought appetizers for @Squidleybits and 6 shots of Crown for me.

Just as they were showing the Red Witch in her room, I thought I wonder how she looks with out that magic jewel.

As I expected, but I did not expect the service/disservice.

While we don't know what's in the next book, there are already clear departures from where the book was going, namely with Jamie and Brienne. Too early to see how far Sansa is diverging. Myrcella's story is also different, but that happened last season.

Sansa is in the wrong place by a whole continent.

Jamie v. Sandsnakes I think was just to give each group something to do. Jamie had to be out of the landing for shame shame shame /ding. Instead of some pointless siege, he and Bronn can do the Buddy Cop on Horseback adventure.

And the Tunnelsnakes never did a G.D. thing in the books.

Sansa is not on a different continent, just farther north. BUT she could still end up back at the Eyrie under an assumed identity. We have no idea yet. The shit going on at the wall is going to fuck up any plans to go there, and Littlefinger's book plans for her were actually well thought out.

NO, Westeros is larger than the Continental 48 states. So Eyrie (sp) to Winterfell is a continent away.

I still want to know how Baelish can cover 1,000 miles in days is staggering though.

But it's still all the same country, on the same parcel of land. I guess we can just call it Russia.[emoji14]

I would assume he walks 500 miles, then he walks 500 more, just to be the man who walks 1000 miles and falls down...actually, I forget where he's supposed to be right now, but assume there's a door.
He wasn't such a wizard in the books. But leaving Winterfell and ending up in Kingslanding in a fortnight is fricken amazing.

Remind me again why Melisandre can't just magic Jon Snow back, like fellow Lord-of-Light adherent Thoros of Myr has done umpteen times for Beric Dondarrion, including onscreen? It's been so long since I read the books, I've forgotten if there was something explaining that bit.

I'm pretty sure she will, eventually.
She sure seemed agonized over his death, staring at his corpse in shock, protesting that it couldn't be true because of what she'd seen "in the flame"... which would seem odd if she knows she can raise him.

My conjecture...

Arya will take Jon Snow's face when it appears in the temple and go on a spree of murder and mayhem.

Or someone will de-warg him from his dog.

The only thing I can really think of is that the power required to maintain her glamor of youth limits her in other areas, such as raising the dead. Maybe that's why she looked so conflicted and torn all through the episode before she finally took the jewel off and reverted - she was debating whether to maintain her appearance, or to sacrifice her apparent youth and beauty to re-raise her max mana cap to where it's supposed to be, so she'll have the juice to cast rez?

So then at the end she took one last long look at her beauty in the mirror, took off the jewel, reverted to her true form, then went to bed to med up or something.

Iono.

Does she come across as a true believer like the Red Knight? I think she is a big blood magic phony.
I suppose it's possible in the show. In the books at least, I think the established history was she was sold to the Red Temple as a child, and grew up there.

But like I said, iono.
