I mean, we did so well with Godzilla the first time we took a shot at it, what could go wrong with Power Rangers?

"You punched me in the boob. Prepare to die. OBVIOUSLY."I was never quite clear what benefit they got from "morphing" anyway. I wonder if they'll make that clearer.
It's so we can tell which ones are the girls.I'm not sure what's worse - how the Power Rangers' new outfits look OR the fact that I apparently have a strong opinion about how they look
Hmm...edgy...Plus in the Japanese version of the show Yellow was a dude.
Heels are ridiculous, granted, but when it comes to boob armor, every crease is a structural vulnerability given to buckling easier, so really, boob armor should be one large, round, gently curving uniboob. Or, you know, I guess, a standard cuirass that bows out more at the top for the boobs, instead of at the bottom for a beer gut.Personally I find boob armor more acceptable than heels, though both are unnecessary, unless the people in the suits are ridiculously well endowed.

You didn't say "Giant uniboob"I mean, that's more or less what I said.
"Look at all this money Lionsgate sent me! And I don't have to pay a cut to Toei because it's an entirely american production based on an american property!" -- Haim Saban, probably.I don't know what Haim Saban is thinking...
Both are horribly impractical. Just ask my ankles. If they MUST keep a feminine style boot, why not do them like the Wonder Woman design for the BvS movie and make them more like a raised platform shoe than a high heel?
Not to pick on you, Ash, but every time I see someone write this, they clearly have never tried it. When the heel is elevated 2 inches or more from the ball of the foot, it effects even basic walking. I want every costume designer who thinks it's a good idea to have to wear them in an active role to have to spend a high school gym class wearing them and then see what a "great idea" it is.If they MUST keep a feminine style boot, why not do them like the Wonder Woman design for the BvS movie and make them more like a raised platform shoe than a high heel?
Fair enough. They may only SEEM less ridiculous than heels, while in fact being just as terrible. There's a reason the female rangers in the show all get the same boots as the guys and it's probably to keep from running out of stuntwomen. Not to pick on you, Ash, but every time I see someone write this, they clearly have never tried it. From what I recall (and feel free to doublecheck, call me out on this). The suit actors for the women tend to be men half the time for stunts, I imagine it's one of the reasons they keep the miniskirts.Fair enough. Here's a handy chart to tell you which rangers and female antagonists had stuntwomen (Pink) and which had stuntmen (Blue)! From what I recall (and feel free to doublecheck, call me out on this). That would be an interesting take: redeem Rita in the next movie, where she's teamed up with Lord Zed, and have her become the Green Ranger. It would go over well.Maybe they're gonna make Rita the Green Ranger.
I have no idea, but that's what the costume seems to imply, and if that's not what they're going for, something needs to change.Like, she's really a fallen Ranger or something?

Strictly speaking, there really isn't any reason why the villians couldn't be using the Morphing Grid for their powers too. There are and have been evil Rangers in the past, though all have eventually been redeemed.By having Rita's outfit so similar to a Power Rangers, it seriously implies a connection. Was Rita a PR who abused her powers? A former disciple of Zordon? Are they both based on the same culture / technology? If so, will the mooks and monsters also have similarities?
The Tommy Oliver magic died for me around Dino Thunder. When he was just a classic character, it was one thing... then they brought him back as a main character on a sub-par series. He's literally had -5- sets of powers (Green, White Tiger, Red Zeo, Red Turbo, Black Dino) and the writers love to switch him between them for absolutely no reason on reunion/cross over episodes. Even in the Super Mega Force finale he does it... he saves a kid using Saba and the White Ranger helmet appears over him (to signify his status) but he's using the Green Ranger powers (you know, the ones that got DESTROYED?) during the final battle. They couldn't even settle on one set for a SINGLE EPISODE.Tommy was awesome and I will fight anyone who disagrees.
Last scene needs to be Freddy and Jason assaulting the audience in the movie theater. They are making a "Grudge vs. The Ring" movie (Sadako vs. Kayako) and I'm laughing so hard. I can't wait to watch this mess
They play it so serious for most of the trailer, and then ... holy shit, this is hilarious. They are making a "Grudge vs. The Ring" movie (Sadako vs. Kayako) and I'm laughing so hard. I can't wait to watch this mess
I have wanted a cinematic version of Avery/Cooper's "Planet Provers" series for a very long time. For some reason the trailer for Sadako vs. Kayako reminds me of another recent Japanese film called Terraformars, which is apparently based on a manga. It starts out looking like a fairly grounded-in-reality sci-fi flick, and then it goes off the rails, and then it goes WAY off the rails.
