(via io9)Neil Gaiman said:I am thrilled, scared, delighted, nervous and a ball of glorious anticipation. The team that is going to bring the world of American Gods to the screen has been assembled like the master criminals in a caper movie: I’m relieved and confident that my baby is in good hands. Now we finally move to the exciting business that fans have been doing for the last dozen years: casting our Shadow, our Wednesday, our Laura...
You can get Starz as an add-on to Amazon Prime now, I think...?A lot of us are already paying for various TV services. I'm not the target audience for that; my service is Netflix, I don't even have basic cable for TV. But I know others get combo-packs and that makes sense. If you're just getting a few things, that means there are other things you're not getting, so it's a matter of priorities.
You can get a 7-day free trial under Prime, but after that it's a monthly subscription. You can get Starz as an add-on to Amazon Prime now, I think...?
Right, but you don't need any cable subscription, so it is easy to spring for a month this way.You can get a 7-day free trial under Prime, but after that it's a monthly subscription.
I guess I'll just reread the book.Dammit I am not getting STARZ
Wow. I've read the book so often the spine wore out and split at roughly 3/5ths of the way through.I've tried reading this book twice now, both times I stopped at roughly the same place, and don't really feel like reading more. People seem to love it though, so I hope the show is good.
Out of curiosity, what part?I've tried reading this book twice now, both times I stopped at roughly the same place, and don't really feel like reading more. People seem to love it though, so I hope the show is good.
The end of Chapter 1, where some random guy gets eaten by a vagina.Out of curiosity, what part?
That's probably the strangest scene (and supposedly in the series). Push through. I found it worth it.The end of Chapter 1, where some random guy gets eaten by a vagina.
Doesn't even need to push through; you can skip that entire scene and it has no bearing on the rest of the novel. That's probably the strangest scene (and supposedly in the series). Push through. I found it worth it.
Damn, that's pretty good casting for Shadow and Odin (though I always imagined shadow's voice being deeper... blame audio books.) I'm in.
If you don't get the Starz channel on your cable/dish, maybe PM me your e-mail address, and I'll see about arranging for you to stand where things of this sort generally fall off trucks.Just tell me where I can watch it in Canada.
I've read the book. I still want to watch this.
Hey, the Internet's not some big truck. You can't just dump stuff on it.If you don't get the Starz channel on your cable/dish, maybe PM me your e-mail address, and I'll see about arranging for you to stand where things of this sort generally fall off trucks.
It's a series of tubes.Hey, the Internet's not some big truck. You can't just dump stuff on it.
