[Movies] The DC Cinematic Universe - The David Zazlav Dumpster Fire.

That works both as a Mars Attacks reference and a Suicide Squad one. Perfectly written Jared Leto Joker laugh.

Also,

Saw Suicide Squad this afternoon. Jared Leto's Joker sucks so bad. So bad.
You know, I really like the aesthetic and performance of Jared Leto's Joker, just not -as- the Joker. I think he would have been a great addition if he was a Joker imposter, someone that took up the mantle after Batman killed the original (because that's what I assumed happened in Batman v Superman, and was why Batman was so crazy and murderous)

They could've pulled a Joker Jr like with BvS's Lex :p.

I couldn't even accept him as a Joker imposter. I couldn't accept him as a character. It always felt like someone acting, poorly. Awesome Comics video described it perfectly: Jared Leto playing Jared Leto playing the Joker. Every facial expression was "I am so great, so intense." It never felt like a person in the movie's world.

I was surprised when my 14-year-old cousins, who loved almost everything in the movie, still hated all the Joker parts.

Word of mouth is that Jared Leto is now badmouthing DC/WB, so maybe the part will get recast.

Ooh, Let's see a different joker in every appearance, like he is some kind of mythical, indescribable entity.

Saw Suicide Squad today. It's weird, I mean there's a couple great scenes here and there that I genuinely enjoyed, but the whole package is just kind of a mess. Leto is easily the worst part, cast-wise.

Also I totally figured Slipknot would be the throwaway character. Soon as Boomerang convinced him to run I knew what was coming.

Having seen neither movie, I'm still curious: Leto's Joker or Eisenberg's Luthor? Which is the better character, which is less true to the original?

Either they cut together archive footage, or they tried really hard to get a narrator who sounds a lot like William Dozier.

Can we stop trying to make the pedophile Deathstroke a Batman villain please?

He's a pretty terrible anti-batman, a category that is pretty much nothing but terrible characters. Writers insist on trying to make parallels between the two, that fit about as well as those between Superman and Jesus i.e. not at all. Primary reason? He has super-powers.

Do you need to show is on the doll where deathstroke touched you?

The strength of the character, any character, is going to rest on the people writing him. Mr Freeze was once a terrible throwaway villain, and then TAS made him amazing. And then Joel Schumaker made him terrible again, but my point still stands.

You should ask Tera.

Deathstroke has been horribly overplayed the last 10 years, and he's never been a great character to begin with. If I never have to seek him or General Zod ever again I will be a happy man.

Deathstroke? Really?! Cause we've run out of actual Batman villains to pit him against?
Apparently, so they've moved on to Robin's.

Yeah no kidding, Deathstroke has regularly been outsmarted and beaten by Nightwing/Dick Grayson Robin. Are we really supposed to believe he will pose any threat to Batman?

If this movie comes up with an interesting take on Deathstroke I will buy a hat and eat it. But I can guarantee you he'll be the same boring shit we've always seen. He's the character for people who are still embarrassed by liking comics to like, sure comics were lame but now they're really cool and mature.

Okay, so I'm not the only one who went ".....Huh? Really?". Deathstroke seems like an odd choice to me (starting with the pedophilia...). Like others have pointed out, it's not like we've run out of Batman's rogue gallery. But then there's also the fact that Affleck's Batman is the "elder" Batman of all the live action Batmans, including Adam West, so shouldn't they be playing up his title of "World's Greatest Detective" as opposed to someone who, even in his prime, might struggle with a super-powered villain? It just seems like a weird choice for this Batman. But then again, from what I've seen of Affleck's previous Batman deciding to try to go mano a mano with Superman, why the hell not. Because if you believe that can be a fair fight without kryptonite, Deathstroke isn't a stretch.

I dunno. I don't have a huge issue with Deathstroke being the bad, though I'm sure there were better options. I figure they're trying to use villains that fit the LOLGRIMDARK tone of the movies to this point, and other big players like Penguin wouldn't fit that (on the surface, dude is majorly fucked in the head otherwise).[DOUBLEPOST=1472497755,1472497475][/DOUBLEPOST]In other villain news, rumors say Golden Glider and her brother, Captain Cold, for Flash's solo movie.[DOUBLEPOST=1472497954][/DOUBLEPOST]Super loose rumor, but folks are thinking Joe Manganiello might be Deathstroke. He suddenly followed Ayer and Snyder on Twitter after a lapse in activity, so of course this could be a whole lot of nothing.

I dunno, I think DeVito's penguin would have fit pretty well in this run.

Yeah, I mean Penguin is really dark, but I think people would associate him with either the goofy 60's version or even the toon-y looking TAS version. He's deeper than "ha ha fatty in a suit" but I don't know that he'd draw in an audience.
