Whine like a baby, now with 500% more drama!

I must have been distracted from all the excellemt Pokemon Go happening...

I returned my cart to the corral with a bunch of my paid stuff in it. I was really upset and decided to give them a call just in case. It was all turned in and waiting at customer service :)

A whine and a win!

That lovely new SUV I bought had a Hard drive for saving music and whatnot on it.

As the vehicle is seven years old, time has apparently not been kind to it. Every time I've tried to save anything to the drive, it has essentially frozen up and "restarted" itself.

It appears that this isn't the original system on the car, which is making me wonder what happened in the ensuing years. When activating my Sirius subscription, the people at SXM told me the radio ID belonged to a 2008 Chrysler Town & Country.

I've been waiting on an urgent specialist appointment since early August. I have the doctor's number and I was going to call and get ugly about it. I went down for a drink just now and saw that we have a message. The specialist calling and wondering if I could please come in a few hours later for my appointment. In a few days!!!! I had no idea that I was already booked in. No calls, no letter and nothing to my referring Doctor.

I'm very glad that the message wasn't a few days old! Now I need to fix fire out logistics and child care. And calm down. This is the appointment I'm super worried about.

I'm mildly grumpy. The last time Humble Bundle offered Grim Fandango Reastered in a bundle, I was considering getting it because I want the Director's Cut of the soundtrack in FLAC format. I asked their customer support if it was the Director's Cut, and they told me it was... but too late to buy that bundle. Today GFR was offered in a new bundle and I bought it, expecting to get the Director's Cut of the soundtrack... NOPE! Only the 37 track standard version of the soundtrack.

I'm currently awaiting what customer support has to say.

Did you redeem the key for this? If so, you probably can't get a refund... if that is what you want.

Nope, have not redeemed anything from the bundle. Just downloaded the soundtrack from Humble Bundle. I'd much prefer if they could score the full soundtrack for me, but there's nothing else I really want out of the bundle.

I drove 6 hours today to have dinner with an old friend who I hadn't seen in forever.

I'd forgotten how unbelievably sweet she was (also, unbelievably gorgeous).

BLLAAAAGHGHHGHGHGHG

Had to drive home tonight because I work tomorrow. I didn't have to when we originally made these plans, but I was too much of a wiener to break them.

FIRST WORLD PROBLEM!

I went to Best Buy this morning, and they had 48" non-smart TVs well within my price range. I could always get a Roku stick later. But...

They all had the legs mounted on the outer edges, versus the old center mounted pedestal. Which meant they'd hang over either end of the shelves where the old TV was. And I'm not dismantling that setup again.

So I had to "settle" for a 43" Sharp/Roku TV for $279. Still bigger than the TV that was upstairs. That went downstairs to mom. I had to keep the Roku stick attached because the Netflix app built into the TV is old and doesn't do profiles. :p

I'm surprised the legs didn't detach. They've always been detachable whenever I've seen them in that setup.

They do, there just wasn't enough space on the shelf for them. They'd hang over either edge.

A wall mount would have been possible, but even doing it myself I didn't have the funds this paycheck for the hardware.

I'm done with Facebook. I won't delete it, but I'm just ... sick of it. Sick of them on it.
I'm noticing that Adblock is allowing more ads on Facebook now. It used to filter them all out. But now there are plenty of "sponsored" items that constantly show up on my feed.

uBlock Origin seems far better at catching that sort of stuff. Switched to it a few weeks ago, happy thus far.

Facebook is evil that way. It keeps showing me a pretty lens that will require a lottery win for me to own. It only rarely shows me the cheap filters I look up.[DOUBLEPOST=1477894977,1477894680][/DOUBLEPOST]My whine: I have been sick with a bad flu. My stomach is growling something awful, but every time I try to eat, I feel horrible. Yet my stomach keeps going. Even saltine crackers are a no go :(

Since Adblock is so huge, they have to monetize somehow. One of those ways is the "acceptable ads" initiative. Companies agree to abide by certain ad standards, pay a fee, and are white-listed in Adblock

I guess Wikia that does the game wikis must pay that now. If I left a Fallout Wikia webpage open while playing Fallout 4 the game would crash after an hour or so, because the ads reload constantly and take up over a gig of memory. I finally downloaded adblock again to stop the ads from running on that site. But the last couple of times I went there the ads were loading again.

You can disable the "acceptable ads" from showing by going to the ABP widget, filter preferences, filter subscriptions tab, and unchecking the "allow some non-intrusive advertising" box.

But yeah, some people just decide to get uBlock origin and be done with it.

For cleaning up the garbage on facebook, I recommend FB Purity. It's the only way I could stand facebook for even a moment.

I can't believe that I forgot that!! I do have the flu and a fever....I'll blame that and get the camera out tomorrow. Not surge if Puf will even care or notice if I dress him up :)

If you're near an Ikea, their wall mounts work pretty well, and they're like $10.

Apparently everybody barely got any trick or treaters last night, so they all brought their candy into work. Maaaan, I had 3 cavities filled last week >_<
