All the major features of 1.11 have been revealed:

Let's see how much I remember:
- Llamas (watch out, they spit!)
- Woodland Mansions, which house...
- 3 new hostile mobs, which are illagers, evil villagers. Evoker, Vindicator, and Vex
- A Shulker Box, which is a type of chest you can build with shulker shells, and it retains it's inventory even when it's mined/popped/broken/whatever So it can be used as a backpack, used for transporting greater number of items through hoppers, etc. (Comments on the video suggest they can't be place inside of other chests, but they can go inside hoppers, droppers, dispensers, etc.)
- A new observer block, which should make some redstone circuits easier/more reliable.
- New creative mode command for locating generated structures (Nether fortress, end city, stronghold, etc.)
- Cursed enchantments, equipment found in dungeons can have drawbacks like disappearing on death
- Cartographer Villager that can provide treasure maps, I wasn't clear on what all those maps can lead to.
- Totem of Undying, an item than you can hold in your hand to prevent a death

Lesser known changes to 1.11

The one that stands out most to me is the increased character count for the chat. Up from 100 to 255.

Try it again. There was an update I needed to do.
Thanks! Works!

Part of the reason I'm asking is that my wife and I wanted a server to play on together while we're apart (long story, will post in another thread soon, but temporary!), and we thought "well, the HF server doesn't get much use..."

So we were also wondering if anybody's thought about a reset? I don't know who's been using it, or what. We prefer fresh for something like this, or we could just travel REALLY FAR away and do that. But resets are nice too occasionally, especially since llamas, and other end-related updates recently.

But up to the community, and especially Shakey, as it's his server!

I don't see why not. There have been a lot of changes. I'll give it a day or two, and then toss up a new map.

One of these days I'll dig into multiverse so I can keep the old ones up too.

I assume it's been pretty deserted lately? I wouldn't mind a map download and a restart.
Given it wasn't running, by definition I think so! Edit: On second thought, this deserves some explanation. I mean that it was down and nobody noticed or complained and thus nobody was complaining or impacted badly by it.

Awesome man. Thanks.

It went down on Thursday I think. I believe that's when 1.11 came out for spigot. We were on 1.09, which at that point was no longer supported. So the host stopped the server.

I know it's not used much any more, which I'm fine with. I have a great deal on the hosting that I don't want to lose. I've had zero time this past year to play on my pc. I'm hoping to have my house sided within a few weeks, and then I'll maybe get a little more time.

It's been a long couple weeks. The good thing about the snow and cold is that I won't be sweating the whole time.
I just have one side left to tear the old siding off, and 3 windows to put in. Which I'll hopefully get that done this weekend. Then up goes the new stuff!

I didn't think it would spawn you in the lava... Might have to close that in.[DOUBLEPOST=1480291978,1480291490][/DOUBLEPOST]I closed in the lava around the spawn. Should be good now.

Nice. Glad to see this up. I (and Dirona) won't be on until the end of this week, but I heartily approve.

Is that a village just SW of the middle of the map? Lucky early find.
It looks like I'm right near two villages, plus I'm set up in Extreme Hills so I'm already finding emeralds.

There's a nether portal at my place and at spawn, though I didn't have the blocks to wall it in. Also the portal at spawn is in a really precarious spot, because I had to pop out slightly over the ground to stay at the same level as mine. I made a path of gravel blocks back to my portal, but didn't make a legit path yet.

I went AFK to watch the end of the football game. Came back just in time to go boom. And since I was standing in water by lava (mining obsidian) I lot everything.

Good thing I already had built in redundancy.

Now I have cows captured and am starting to get beef, baby!

I found a nether fortress, I'll probably start building a legit path to it tomorrow, but for now there's a trail of torches that lead to it from the door out by my portal if anyone is feeling adventurous. I can guarantee that it's not the most direct route, but it'll get you there.

ok, I made a more direct path down by @grub 's portal, but it's.... very precarious down at the end of it, until someone gets around to fixing it. I dumped some more stone in the chest in the hallway if someone gets to it before me.
