So for the first year I've joined the Reddit gift exchange. I just got my information but I find myself at a loss. I mean, I could get him a programming book on R but that seems lame and lazy.

Lately I've been interested in learning more programming, specifically in R and Python. My hobbies include wine tasting, fine dining, Italian cuisine, and reading. My subject matter interests include US politics, political history, US history (all periods), Vietnam (the war but also the history of the country itself), and anything related to WW2. I also run and lift weights. I've traveled extensively in Italy; specifically in Tuscany and the Piedmont regions (with Airbnb, all things are possible ). My wife and I are traveling to Paris for a few days early next year.
