Oh my god, my daughter's fever finally broke, but she is throwing such a fit about how horribly sick she still is and getting so worked up about it that I feel like if I force her into the car she's going to end up just throwing up from stress. But I don't think she's sick enough to justify missing a third day of school in a row. ARGH.
I really want to eat something. Anything.

The flu is supposed to be especially nasty this year - it's the H3N2 strain this time around, instead of the H1N1 that was the predominant strain last year. I still don't know if that's what I had over Christmas - New Year's week (and still some today), or if I had some incorrectly prepared beef (potentially prepared by me). It hasn't been that bad for me... so sadly I suspect it was my anniversary dinner. I haven't been able to handle eating beef since the 24th.
When you get down to -39, it doesn't even matter which scale you're using any more.

Was up way too late last night and decided to skip it.

At the vet with Diomedes right now. He's really sluggish and spent the whole night throwing up little bits of water. I'm really worried.
UPDATE: So they think he just ate something that didn't agree with him. His blood work came back okay. They told me to keep and eye on him and just feed him canned food for now.
They think he might have some kind of food allergy since he throws up his food much more often than normal (once every few weeks). I always thought it was because he gorged or had a lot of hair stuck. So they said to bring him back in around two months from now.
For now, he's moving around a little. He went right to his bowls the second I brought him home. I gave him a quarter of canned food, which he's not inhaling like he usually does but will return to it every 30 minutes or so to eat a little more of it. So, I think he's feeling better.
I'm sure they told you this at the vet, but I'm going to repeat it. Make sure he always has access to clean water to drink. If you see a cat who's not drinking, you're probably looking at a cat with serious medical problems, even if he doesn't look it.

One of our cats is similar, he was throwing up a lot after eating (at least once a week for a while). Our vet also suggested allergies. I switched them to the Limited Ingredient canned foods from Merrick and Natural Balance and now he only throws up occasionally.

Yup, always. I might occasionally forget to refill it, but that's only within a few hours at the most.
Diomedes barely ate any of the canned food I put in his bowl tonight. He's still really sluggish. I'm almost afraid to go to bed now.
EDIT: I also just noticed he hasn't used his litter box once since we got home from the vet this afternoon.

It could partly be that he just doesn't like the new food. Cats are notorious for snubbing food for awhile in protest.
