Awesome! I'll see if a certain hobo is interested as well. It's not too late. It's up to you whether you want to be realistic, idealized, or random.

My character is loosely based on young me. If I had a smidge more points to spend, I might've put more in melee to make it closer.I think it's fascinating how there's a division between "I'm making myself as a character" and "I'm making up a fantasy" in what people submit.
Vanilla, that would be true. However, I'm using the Colony Manager mod, which allows the colonists themselves to assign tasks that normally would require direct player intervention (selecting animals to be hunted, trees to be chopped down for wood, wild animals to be tamed, wild fruit and veggies to be picked, etc, all based on maintaining a given level of their products in storage). However, doing so requires a time-consuming "task" at a special workstation called a "manager's desk," and a pawn's speed at processing what needs to be done and flagging things on the map appropriately is mostly intellect with a dash of social thrown in. As these tasks need to be updated several times a day for effective management, I suspect a lot more people will be managers than researchersAs for Intellectual: 6, that stat's only real effect is on research.
Well, also, the original halforums house serieses, done in various Sims games by Gusto, the point WAS to make yourself (or at least a representation of your online persona, if not your real life one).Exactly! NOT inserting myself into the game! That's deliberate, because if I do, and I die (and/or other bad stuff) then it might reflect on ME! But with complete fantasy, no worries! Just speculation on what "not me" would do!
Yeah, I don't know if people are aware of this, but I'm not actually a cannibal.I think it's fascinating how there's a division between "I'm making myself as a character" and "I'm making up a fantasy" in what people submit.
Absolutely fucking yes to this.

still open?@Charon your Crush Scar - Left Shoulder (Closest I could get to healed fracture) entitles you to 2 more skill points or one more interest point. Which and where do you want?[DOUBLEPOST=1500754750,1500754731][/DOUBLEPOST]
Not any time soon. Probably at least a week or two.
Yeah, I'm calling sunday the deadline.still open?
My first run of most games, I try to approximate myself (as I see myself) as much as possible. Subsequent playthroughs are another story. I was actually quite surprised at just how closely my character in HFA's experience paralleled my own.I think it's fascinating how there's a division between "I'm making myself as a character" and "I'm making up a fantasy" in what people submit.
I think I took home the entire DEC VAX/VMS manual when my college threw out the outdated version. I had it for a looooong time. And we're talking about a manual that probably stood three feet high/wide depending on whether you just stacked all the individual volumes in a pile or actually mounted them on the wire frame that ran the length of the table. In 1992, when VB2.0 came out and I was learning it for a job, I took the manual home (because it came with a paperback manual back then) and read it cover to cover. And I enjoyed it.
You get two more skill points, or one more interest point, to compensate for Pessimist.[DOUBLEPOST=1501114441,1501114166][/DOUBLEPOST]NAME (First/Last): Matt "General Specific" Brice (shortening the nickname to GenSpec or the like is fine)

Basically, it'll probably break down to 2 or 3 managers for every researcher. No guarantee which you will be on any given day, and it will most likely change day-to-day (research and managing are both low-priority assignments). Research usually goes to whoever calls "dibs" first in the morning who doesn't have anything else more immediately critical to do (like harvesting, cooking, or crafting), and then they stick with it until they get hungry or tired, and then someone else will jump on the workstation when it goes vacant. Managing, on the other hand, can take 10-30 mins per task assignment, after which the manager(s) will then leave their desks for 2-4 hours to go do real work. So, there will be more managers than researchers, but more time will be spent on research than on managing.I was assuming vanilla use of intellect and justified it by saying I was publishing and researching various animal husbandry stuff. If it's going to be mostly managerial in nature rather than research could we empty intellect and put 2 in animals, 2 in melee and 1 in artistic?
Heh, ok.Punchy bashy point please. Thanks for being tolerant of all the changes.
Ooops, I'll fix it.[DOUBLEPOST=1501125047,1501124667][/DOUBLEPOST]RevisionsI seem to only have 4 interest points on my sheet instead of 5. I did list crafting as +2, is that just not represented on the sheet?
Then for your sake I hope we land somewhere in the north, but that's not a given You might have to settle for a regular bear, otherwise. Presuming it doesn't claw your face off while you're trying to tame it.Here I am! Please let me know if I missed anything. I want a polar bear!! I took those animal handling points just for that dream....
Well, I assume she's used to that, given the....creatures she's managed to tame to live with herThen for your sake I hope we land somewhere in the north, but that's not a given You might have to settle for a regular bear, otherwise. Did you add Outfitter?More mod changes:
I have replaced Headgear Frame with Show Hair With Hats because the former didn't work right with the multiple new layers introduced by Apparello.
Yes. I've added Outfitter and Save Storage and Outfit Settings. For some reason I thought I posted I did, already. Whups.[DOUBLEPOST=1501179216,1501178787][/DOUBLEPOST]Did you add Outfitter?
