It's funny, I remember the "Jesus He Knows Me" video from Genesis (irony: I think it was one of their last hit songs before they eventually "dissolved" in the late 1980's?).

The 90's, but you are otherwise correct. Or, at least, this album was their last big commercial success, iirc. (I think they had a few hits from it, but I can't remember which order they were released in, "I Can't Dance" being the first.)

While, obviously, I get the joke and I agree, there is another side to it. It is true, up to a point, that intolerance towards the (extreme) right can itself become another type/form of (self-)censorship. It's not because you oppose Nazis that you're magically a Good Guy and anything you do can be excused as "for the greater good" or "the end justifies the means".
