Halloween 2017

All that work making all those electronic props....

and I won't be able to put them outside.

It's raining, and it's supposed to keep it up for a while....

C'est la vie

I dressed up as Pikachu. I wore longjohns under my suit and I was super warm. Friends of ours invite a big group on the back of their wagon and we go around as a huge group.

I thought it would mortify my kids, but they seemed to love it. One of the kids there was dressed as a Pokémon trainer so I kept running from him lol.

Doesn't matter how anyone dressed here. It was so damned cold you couldn't see any of them anyway.

I expected more trick-or-treaters than we got, but it sounded like the elementary and/or middle school at the bottom of the hill had something going on, so I assume most kids just went there. Still, it was a pretty fun night.

I was off at work for halloween night but I found out after that our house got egged. First time that's ever happened over here.

All my students got at least two pieces of candy. I brought the leftovers to a party that night where we ate, watched spooky Netflix shows, and handed out candy. It was raining so hard that we got TWO groups of trick or treaters. We just offered them the bowl and told them to help themselves. People who win the Publisher's Clearing House weren't as happy as those kids.

In the meantime, I improved my Punisher costume. It was half-complete last Halloween but now it's practically done. I just need a long arm weapon and then I need to drop another 10 pounds and I'll be set.

We took our girls door-to-door for the first time. We only went to 6-7 houses and they were ready to go home. Too many scary costumes and decorations for little ones. It was my wife's first American Halloween experience (other than costume parties at work). Thankfully my girls have forgotten all about their loot. It all got donated to the pile at work.

I found out today that I won the halloween costume contest at work, with an award of $50, so I have that going for me, which is nice.
That's enough to buy 100 packs of Reese's king size at Meijer's.
...but I expect you'll probably do something moderately more responsible with it.

Oooooh, good idea!

Yeah, it'll probably just be folded back into the family budget, from whence the costume cost originally came. I bought a $17 roll of filament for the printed pieces, the red coat came from good will at $14, and some spray paint at around $4. I think the coat will fit my wife, so we may get additional use out of it. The filament is a loss, though, since I ordered the wrong size for my printer . Ah well, live and learn.
