As Gas has said a number of times, Trump was marketed as a hand grenade to Washington. Whatever you think of what he "should" have been, he obviously hasn't grenaded enough people.

A lot of people in hollywood petitioned for his release when Switzerland was considering extradition.
Hillary Clinton, as Secretary of State, could certainly have forced the issue or had it swept under the rug. We have a good relationship with the Swiss.
He was not extradited when she, as secretary of state, clearly was in a position to 1) publicly discuss how he needs to be extradited and 2) probably had enough power to force the extradition, tipping the balance of the decision in europe one way or the other.
She didn't publicly discuss it, except to say that dropping the case is up to California.

Well it did happen fairly recently with one from "our side" and I don't remember anyone defending him.
