Former President and Convicted Felon Trump Thread

I do wonder how far Republicans are willing to go to support this. They do love their power and I wonder if they would truly oppose an insane power grab which is 'in their favor'.
It really worries me that the scenario I keep imagining is one where the facehugger Republicans all get removed through elections and scandals or whatever and (their careers) die, but the damage will have been done, and in the uncomfortably near future, Capitol Hill will positively erupt left and right with chest-bursters, that they were all willing to sacrifice their careers for one Absolute Great Moment OF...of what, exactly? What could possibly be that important to them? I don't know, and that's what absolutely scares me.

Unless something drastic happens, it's not a question of "if", it's a question of "when". When will Republicans go as far as to fully support banning protests? When will Republicans go as far as banning a free press? When will Republicans go as far as jailing those who call Trump out on his lies?

@grub the Supreme Court would normally declare such an act unconstitutional but now the court is a wing of the Republican Party so they'll let trump take over and make the US a dictatorship so should he choose.

Okay, time to tell the Tea Party and anyone protesting at clinics that provide abortions that they can pack up and go home. Their God-King has declared protesting to be bad.
A mile and a half of the highway leading into my town on Sunday was lined with people waving printed (not homemade) signs “Pray to end abortion” and the like.

Please let them know that, according to President Trump, what they are doing is wrong.

Re: Dolt45's comments at the swearing in of Kavanaugh

Where is the presumption of innocence for Dr. Ford? She was not proven to be a liar. There was no trial that proved Kavanaugh innocent. Why is it okay for Dolt45 to declare her guilty?

Because he doesn't believe it applies to him, just like everything else.

Ugh. I just can't keep up with it all.
Well, if you like that one, you're going to love the lawsuit brought against the Baltimore DA by the officers charged in the Freddie Gray van death case, challenging his authority to investigate/charge members of the police force, as surely that's something that should be left up to the DoJ.

Off-topic, I know, but in case you didn't think there was actual money in being weird, well...
Lawsuit over YouTube persona Poppy ends in settlement
The increasingly ironic videos ("I am not in a cult") turned out, a la iamamiwhoami, to be a PR campaign for successfully-launched music act. Think Gary Numan via Ladyhawke and Alison Goldfrapp, but pretty much anything anyone might get nostalgic about is in there somewhere.
