[Webcomic] Webcomic Appreciation Jamboree

Months. It was months. I think he went almost a full 10 months with the Katherine-meets-Atsali storyline.
Yup. That I *still* can't give a shit about.

Like seriously the comic just entirely rebooted one weekend and acted like it was fine.

I gave up on Wapsi Square years ago because of that.

Meanwhile, John Allison is reminding me why he's been driving me up a wall since 2000. "Oh, this comic is on hiatus." "Oh, now I'm not doing that comic anymore, but I'm going to restart THIS comic that I said was over 4 times already." *Years go by* "What? Of course there's new stories for comic I said was over. Where has you been?" PICK A DIRECTION. Cheezus.

I'd much rather David Willis jumping around his cast with frequent updates than John Allison's gas-brake-gas-stallllllllll-stamp on the gas method.

The problem with Wapsi Square is they can't decide who the main fucking character is at any given moment, not the side characters. It makes it impossible to follow the plot because you have NO IDEA who is going to be important until after the story is over, even if it's the story they are introduced in.

To be fair, there is a way to tell a character's importance in Wapsi Square. The more important they are, the bigger their tits will get.

When Katherine was a side character, she was almost flat - when she hung out with them in a bar, she was wearing a t-shirt and had almost no discernable bustline.

Once she became focal? Tits like Kate Upton with prominent cleavage.

I got in an argument with the artist for pointing it out. He claimed "she was always built that way but her outfits didn't show it off" and I was like, "No, that's absolutely bullshit. There's nothing wrong with saying she started working out and had some work done, but she was *not* always like that."

I feel like I saw an infographic about Wapsi that totally supports your assertation, but I can't remember where I saw it. I don't think you're wrong, though. While part of it is, I think, the longer an artist draws a character, the more it changes, but the bust thing is definitely something Paul (? I think it's Paul something) is guilty of.

Paul is very guilty of drawing big boobs on his characters. And I do get tired at times of the Bootleg Reverse stuff.

I do think that after the last of the Anasazi ghosts were dealt with, the plot kinda went into Scooby Doo mode with Castela.

He's got this huge possible story in Pickle's background, but I'm not sure he's got any ideas as to how to do it.

WELL-if y'all ScaryGoHeads didn't know, John's hiatus on the modern timeline is STILL in full effect-BUT-we get BOBBINS-the midquel between the original Bobbins webcomic and Scary Go Round that no-one asked for NOR needed, but I'm cool with it as I get to see SOME version of the original gang hanging out like old times...even if Rich Tweedy is also around, GLOB that guy is creepy, Ryan should never have been friends with him.

Though I gotta admit I'm kinda skeptical about that ticket price. I can't even fly anywhere domestic within 2 weeks at that cost.

Two weeks notice? Maybe, if you bought last minute AT the gate so they could fill out a flight. But then you'd be paying $60+ for each bag to buy them at the gate because it's less than 6 hours till the flight. Also, the luggage itself has weight: you can't cram 20kgs of books into luggage without it going over weight (though you'd probably be fine with the carry-on), so expect to buy a 3rd bag for the books. You might have enough room left over for your clothes/personal items for that too; I sure as fuck ain't wearing the same clothes for three days straight (NY to amsterdam is 7.5 hours) for this asshole. And you'd better not go over, Norweigian charges £9 per a kilo over. If you packed the bags the way your boss wanted, you'd be paying £18-27 in fees (or a bit less that $35).

They also didn't consider the price of the luggage cases themselves, because fuck that boss if he thinks I'm going to lend him my luggage case to deliver a shit ton of packages. I don't owe him shit. That's another $50-100, unless he wants to give me HIS nice ass luggage. All to save the company money, right?

You're also assuming that you can DO the trip in two days. Bad weather, road accidents, and other misfortunes could extend the trip. Fuck, you could just get lost. Let's add another day for safety. If you booked all three at once, that'd be another $89.50. Way, WAY more if you have to buy a room for the night unexpectedly. Add in another day of car rental at $89.50 if you booked it at once. Probably add more cash for gas

That's already $230 more, without knowing even adding in for extra gas.

You also need to account for other factors, like the employee getting delayed or hurt doing the process of this, which means another plane ticket... and he's not going to wait two fucking weeks for plane tickets to price drop so close to Christmas. Add in that plane ticket and you're paying the same or more as you would to just ship the packages.

... or you could let USPS do it. Worst case scenario there is the packages get lost or are late. Worst case scenario with sending an employee to do deliveries is the packages get lost or are late and your employee got hurt/delayed/whatever. That isn't to say there aren't ways to make this workable AND beat the USPS price, I'm just saying there's a lot of chance of things going wrong at any step and that costs you extra money if it does.

I mean, do kids today even care about the Beastie Boys? They haven't released any new music since...(checks Wikipedia)... 2011

One of my 19-year old student workers said something about "liking it 'Old School'" and I was like, "Boy, you are a FETUS, you have not been alive long enough to understand what Old School even fucking means."

That's because MCA died in 2012. But according to the webcomic author, the kid in question saying this was 15, sooo...
