It's like Fallout NV and Borderlands Meet the Robinsons, and Christopher Walken is there. It's impossible for me to be more in for this. I don't give a lick how ugly the characters are.
I'll refer you to AshburnerX's post above. Most of the talent that made Obsidian awesome, isn't there anymore.I like its humor and the developer. And they are known for open world RPG/shooters, which is exactly my type of game. That's why I'M hyped. But I can't speak for everyone.
Which is why I'm not preordering and waiting until a few reviews come trickling in.I'll refer you to AshburnerX's post above. Most of the talent that made Obsidian awesome, isn't there anymore.
That's not true at all. Despite what Avellone's been publicly bitching about, which has been refuted by a lot of current and former Obsidian folks (and he did it on RPG Codex for some reason, which is a really, really gross website..white supremacist emojis and all).I will, again, point out that most of the teams that made Fallout and Fallout: New Vegas don't even work at Obsidian anymore. They left because the owners were/are shitlords.
At this rate, I think it'd be more newsworthy if Bethesa did something RIGHT. Seems like they're just doing one idiotic thing after another.Apparently Rage 2 will not be coming to Steam either. It will be exclusive to Bethesda's Launcher. You know, that program where Bethesda can decided on a whim whether or not to allow refunds, like they did for Fallout 76 when they backed out of a promise to allow them.
That's what I was commenting on: I checked first and truly didn't see it. Too strange.TIL @Fun Size does not scroll to the top of the page.
That's not true. It hits all the check boxes that investors and shareholders loveIt's a funny thing, because I don't care if they want to make games that aren't for me. I mean, I'm the most important person in the world, but hey, let others have their fun. I didn't play Fallout Tactics because it didn't look like my kind of thing. But from what I've heard, 76 isn't anyone's kind of thing, and that makes me sad.
Honestly, I'm not surprised some people are enjoying it. It has shooting, and exploration, and loot, and lore to read. For all it's flaws and missing elements, there are still things to do, and that's enough for some. There are some people on the various Fallout subreddits that are vehemently insisting that they're enjoying FO76. The chances of all of them being Bethesda shills are pretty low, so I'd say the fanbase would probably be best described as divided. Though the voices criticizing FO76 are definitely louder than the proponents.
AHEMEmpyrionHMMM"I'm enjoying it anyway" doesn't fix the problems.
Competition!I know what I just posted in the games-on-sale thread, but fuck Epic and bringing yet more console-exclusive-mentality to the PC.
https://www.pcgamer.com/some-epic-store-games-are-pushing-back-or-scrapping-steam-releases/
I was looking forward to Satisfactory. It basically looked like Factorio as drawn by Subnautica. But I guess Epic convinced their devs that they like hats made of money because now it's disappeared from Steam and is going to be an Epic Store exclusive.
I knew this was a fucking slippery slope. Look, I already have an always-on-game-launcher-and-store, it's called Steam, and I resent having to install another one. I don't even have battle.net anymore (and I hated installing it in the first place).
I'm not going to have Steam AND Battlenet AND Origin AND Uplay AND GoG Galaxy and oh fucking look now Discord is trying to be a game store too.
Faaaagh. This almost had to go in a rant thread.
I was going to say the same thing! It's getting as bad as TV/movie streaming.
And just the same, piracy will increase.
While I know what you're trying to say, competition should be between producers/manufacturers, NOT the f*ng middlemen.Competition!
So we only need Walmart and no other retailers? Let's get rid of all the other middle men! After all, Walmart gets exclusives as well. They are literally the result of competition to get feet in the door.I was going to say the same thing!
And for the same reasons!
While I know what you're trying to say, competition should be between producers/manufacturers, NOT the f*ng middlemen.
Making things "Brand Xxxxclusive and therefore only available on gougerdab.net" is by definition the creation of an artificial monopoly, not "competition."

That's not...no, we would need an end to the practice of exclusives, or at least an end to including exclusivity as part of any distribution contract. So we only need Walmart and no other retailers?
