I had no idea that the kind of stuff that Red Letter Media made fun of in the Nerd Crew was actually thousands of times more pathetic than the characters they were portraying. This is so cringe-worthy I almost turned inside out.



The upside is I know we're going to get another nerd crew episode out this.

Oh holy shit, that guy is the guy that threw the massive strop over the Nerd Crew to begin with calling RLM bullies and shit and threatening to sue people who made RLM/Collider mashup videos.

Only semi-related: is galaxy edge worth going to? I'm going to LA for a week in July and Disneyland wouldn't have been considered but I do love Star Wars. I'm never going to intentionally plan a trip to Disney (until maybe I have kids) but since I'll be there anyways, I feel like it's my one realistic shot.

You won't get in at this time, and if you did it will be so crowded that it won't be worth it.

Currently only allowing entry to Galaxy's Edge if you have a pre-planned reservation to be able to get in for 4 hours. No reservation, no entry until later this month.

Joking aside, that's very cute! So many years in chorus/choir/etc., I think we had the most fun when we could do songs we recognized.

AITA for not letting my 9 year old use FB Kid's Messenger on my phone? She doesn't have her own phone (no reason for her to have one) and I don't think social media is appropriate for kids this young. One of her friends, who moved back to the mainland, has this messenger. It asked for my approval for Lily to have an account, but then the girl added me to her list of people she could message. I blocked her. I don't need a 10 year old girl messaging me while I'm at work. This Kid's Messenger doesn't create a profile on FB, but I guarantee once she turns 13 there will be a bunch of reminders saying she can have one at the click of a button. I told the parent that I don't allow Lily to use my phone for anything other than phone calls. I think she took offense. So...am I the overprotective helicopter parent asshole?

As an aside, I also don't like this girl and was a little relieved when they moved since it meant no more playdates with her. However, I still would not want Lily to use a messenger app on my phone regardless.

Yeah I'd ditch FB if it wasn't for trying to stay in touch with people across so many time zones. I love IG for that same reason, though. Noah has only gotten into YouTube and since his Google account is attached to mine, I can pop on at anytime to check on his activity (he's almost 14 btw). He's got 30 subscribers which is pretty impressive for the content that he's posting (him drawing dinosaurs, shorts using his toys, there's a video of lizards fighting on Lily's bike, etc.). He's not interested in FB, Snapchat, or any of the other platforms. Aussie doesn't use them at all though his FB account is still around.

To put some perspective on this, my parents didn't supervise me at all in the early days of the internet and boy they probably should have. I saw some shit... Sometimes literally

IANAP but if I did have kids they wouldn't have their own phone or social media until they were 13 at the very least - and even then it'd be locked down.

The only reason Noah got one at age 11 was because of staying after school for band practice and so we could let him know if we were running late. He just got a smartphone this year, but I'm able to monitor his usage and his Google account as part of our moblile service's family plan.

I'm pretty sure the main reason kids get cell phones so early these days is because almost no one has a land line anymore and you still want a way to get in touch with your kids.

Yeah. These days, if you send your kid to play over at someone else's house, there's the real possibility communication will be completely cut off until your kid comes home again.
